Alphabet Soup Playing Alphabet Soup is a really fun way to expose your little one to letters. There are tons of great variations on this game, but for the original version you'll just need toy alphabet letters and a large kitchen pot. Simply dump the letters into the pot and let your child play around, stirring the “soup” with a spatula or practise scooping up the letters with measuring cups, asking them to name each letter. You can also try this in the bath with waterproof letters and some small bowls. With so many variations, it's easy to switch up this alphabet game to keep it fresh for your kiddos. 4. Scrabble Matching Game Teaching my young students the letters of the alphabet is one of my favorite things to do. It’s always an exciting time when I introduce animal alphabet letter crafts and puzzles to my youngest learners. As early childhood educators, we know that letters and sounds are the cornerstone of our student’s literacy skills. We know that when we build a strong foundation of letter and sound recognition and knowledge, we set our students up for literacy and reading success down the line. Made from rubberwood with non-toxic, child safe stains, this 26-piece puzzle features one animal for every letter of the English alphabet. Uppercase letters are found on one side and lowercase on the other. Puzzle pieces teach alphabet letters while developing fine motor and problem-solving skills.
