About this deal

Design a powerful pitch that inspires you, your potential customers and potential partners, guided by our proven pitch architecture What drives people to be entrepreneurs – fame, fortune or controlling own destiny. Whatever the goal, you need to be well known, you need to be a thought leader, and in today’s world, that means being highly proficient on the internet and social media.

I am definitely not the target market for this book. I don't own a business, nor am I some high flying professional but I just could NOT put this book down. A reasonably good book for anyone looking to achieve success in their endeavours. Largely focussed on building yourself into known expert in your industry, whatever that is, with the goal of achieving commercial success in your endeavours. The formula is referred to as the Five Steps. The author goes into each step in detail to ensure you understand how to execute each. I joined the Key Person of Influence Accelerator in November 2019 and it’s one of the best investments we’ve ever made in our business. What I learned in the Accelerator helped me see our mountain of value and share it in a more intentional way which has transformed what we do and the impact we have. I loved this book as it is full of amazing coaching mentoring guidance in start, running and reputation in business. We were just starting out and the idea of having all the assets Daniel was talking about like books, videos, blogs and everything online, seemed just so, so far away. Become a Key Person of influence is an inspirational and easy read which outlines essential steps to establishing yourself as a vital player within your industry, opening up new opportunities, connections and meaning within your current industry. A company can downsize functional people. A client can replace a functional supplier. An investor can put their money into something else that’s just as functional. Functional does the job, but functional is still interchangeable. In many ways, this is part of Daniel's own KPI strategy, and it's part of an ascending sales model (You've read the book, now join the training course!) - so it's a bit easy to be cynical that this is just marketing/publicity hype. At KPI, we believe when you get asked the question “What do you do?”, your pitch is the ONLY answer.

It's professional development with a punch - skip the slogging it out with the crowd, and focus your efforts where they'll go a long way. At the centre of every industry you will find an inner circle of people who are the most well known and highly valued people. They are the key people of influence (KPI). They: I had no idea that this book would literally turn my world upside down and help me harness the gifts and skills I already have. I joined the KPI course six years into my business, so there were already 50 people working at Redington. I only wish I had discovered KPI earlier. It’s been transformational not only for me, but for the business. And my challenge now is to turn every single member in Redington into a KPI.”As a personal branding specialist, I read a lot of books on the topic of leadership, branding, and influencing. You’ve probably been asked this question a million times. By your clients, at the gym, by your cab driver and even at bars & restaurants. But what answer do you give them? This book is perfect for you, if you want to understand how to present yourself better and become that ‘key person of influence’ in your sector. The workbook sections at the end of each chapter give you the opportunity to make notes and think more about your brand and what you are hoping to achieve. Employee Matters was going well enough, but it wasn’t wildly successful. It definitely wasn’t wildly successful enough considering all the hours I was putting in. I was regularly working 60-70 hours a week, and the problem was I actually knew I had a great product, but I struggled with how to get that message out there. What we wanted out of 24Assets was to structure the business, grow up a little bit, mature. Being part of 24Assets made us feel a bit more confident. We hold pop-ups all over the world. We do them in New York, San Francisco, Sydney. In 2018, we did 24, so you can imagine that we put our assets to the test and for them to really work consistently for us in different timezones, with different teams, and now we can really operate internationally.”

This book is one of those that I consider to be a personal book of change. A fundamental shift in terms of how I look at things. In 2001 I read the E-Myth, I then left my job and went out and started a multinational franchise based business that became one of the Fastest Growing Businesses in Canada. I first came across the author, Daniel Priestly, on a podcast that was recommended to my by a friend. The conversation was illuminatinrhg, and made me think about how I was approaching business and day-to-day work from a new perspective. If anything, I recommend listening to that: https://open.spotify.com/episode/63Rv... KPI stands for ‘Key Person of Influence’. The book aims to support entrepreneurs who want to ‘make a dent’ and build fantastic lives and businesses, to do so by teaching them how to become ‘key people of influence’. Daniel does this by his 5 ‘Ps’:

Being in business involves setting some serious goals to prevent you from getting distracted by shiny new objects, oroverwhelmed by everything that needs doing. The Key Person of Influence Scorecard benchmarks your ability to influence and identifies opportunities for leveraged growth. If you want to become more visible, valuable and connected, this tool will identify your baseline.

I’d always done one or two properties just as a hobby. It was just a way of me reinvesting the family finances and sort of keeping me occupied so I wasn’t just a ‘lady who lunched’. I didn’t actually know that property could be a serious business for someone like myself. If you talk to people who've done KPI, there's one P that stands out for them, and for me it was Partnership. After the Partnership day, I was introduced to an experienced property developer, and he proposed to joint venture with me. Now I know that, had I not done that Partnership day, there was no way I would have invested half a million pounds with a near stranger to actually do this partnership. But my goodness, did it change my life." Suggest that you have a way of solving this problem and share your ideas freely. Educate people on the key insight you have for making sure this problem is solved properly.A few gems for me included pitching an idea, leveraging the title of Author, revenue generation from product eco-systems, leveraging other KPI's networks with partnerships...A bonus was the Audiobook narrator Maloneys voice which I found delightful. Achieved more working fewer hours and with more fun incorporating the systems taught step by step in KPI. People wanting to improve their business and not sure how to best make the use of the opportunities available to them in this day and age (e.g. social media, networking, global economy, self-publishing and other opportunities). What attracted me to Dent was the fact that they love to work with entrepreneurs who actually want to make a difference in the world, at the same time as building a profitable business.
