About this deal

Far End - The remote end, which is the cabinet or exchange's hardware. This is the Upstream information.

Draytek V130-K ADSL2+/VDSL2 Ethernet Modem FTTC/BT Infinity

An important item to note is that for the PPPoE connection a "Service Name" should not be entered. If you have this field in the configuration of the router or computer that you're using then make sure that it is left empty. DrayTek routers with Ethernet WAN interfaces are able to connect to a BT Infinity or other ISPs similar BT FTTC based broadband (Sometimes referred to as Fibre Broadband) service using the BT Openreach modem, which is commonly supplied with current BT FTTC installations. The BT Openreach modem converts the VDSL2 connection used by BT's FTTC service into Ethernet.

More DrayTek Modem Types

Each DrayTek modem is designed to offer stability and extensive compatibility across internet providers for a seamless online experience. We have two Wi-Fi modem models available, so it’s important to understand the benefits of each and choose the product that best suits your needs: Whats the recommend modem/router with bridge mode, something likeZyxel VMG1312? i don't need any wireless features.

Go to [WAN] - [Internet Access] in the web interface and set the WAN interface to be used with the FTTC connection to PPPoE mode: On the router, go to [WAN] > [General Setup] and select the WAN interface that the Vigor 130 modem is connected to. In this example, WAN2 is used on a Vigor 2866 router: I have had the setup nearly two years and only had one issue and it wasn't speed related hence why I changed the firmware of both the WRT32X and Linksys E600 to WRT versions. At the moment, the Vigor modem has no way to communicate directly with the UDMP, and the UDMP doesn’t know anything about the Vigor modem itself. To resolve this we need to: The DrayTekVigor 130is an ADSL and VDSL modem with an Ethernet connection; it is not a router but a true ADSL/VDSL Ethernet Modem (bridge). The Vigor 130 provides compatibility with all current UK VDSL/ADSL technologies; it has been extensively tested and tuned to provide a robust and reliable DSL connection. I have achieved comparable speeds and stability from using Billion 8800NL and 8800NL/R2 routers configured in modem only bridge mode (and wireless disabled). I currently have these configured and ready to go, as standby modems if my Vigor 130 was ever to fail. If you use DrayTek's ACS-SI management platform, you can use that to roll out the new firmware to all products en-masse. Enabling Smart Queues in USG reduced buffer bloat to around 1ms, so no need for anything extra hopefully.
