About this deal

There are a couple of options on finishing, P126 Rose is a superb finisher but for that extra special job P175 can be used. There are dozens of different polishing compounds available, and they all have different uses, side effects, and grits – it’s enough to make your head spin. If you’re just starting on your polishing journey, it can be hard to know which compound to use and what kind of results you can expect from each one. In that case, a polishing compound grit chart can solve the trouble. Polish the whole body Once you've finished and the scratch is invisible, you might notice the area you worked on has a slightly different finish to the rest of the car. It could be shinier, dull or just have a bit of haze across it. At this point, we recommend you give your car some TLC and polish the whole body. Does a car polisher do a better job at removing car scratches?

The car scratch remover is applied with a microfibre cloth following the manufacturer's instructions. I) Vienna Lime can be used after polishing to remove light grease and finger marks etc. If the work needs degreasing then a solvent like white spirit works well. After a few applications using the parallel method, start to coat the surface using alternating circular and figures of eight motions, this combination of strokes will build the layers of French polish up and fill the grain of the wood. This process is known as ‘bodying up’.Available in four grades. Important!! to remember that each grade contains a grit but they do not have to cut or finish of a true abrasive, they give a much softer finish. Polishing wheels come in a wide variety of types to fulfil a wide range of needs. The most common materials used for polishing wheels are wood, leather, canvas, cotton cloth, plastic, felt, paper, sheepskin, impregnated rubber, canvas composition, and wool; leather and canvas are the most common. Wooden wheels have emery or other abrasives glued onto them and are used to polish flat surfaces and maintain good edges. There are many types of cloth wheels. Cloth wheels that are cemented together are very hard and used for rough work, whereas other cloth wheels that are sewn and glued together are not as aggressive. There are cloth wheels that are not glued or cemented, and instead are sewn and have metal side plates for support. Solid felt wheels are popular for fine finishes. Hard roughing wheels can be made by cementing together strawboard paper disks. Softer paper wheels are made from felt paper. [1] Most wheels are run at approximately 7500 surface feet per minute (SFM), however muslin, felt and leather wheels are usually run at 4000 SFM. [5]

Now lightly sand out any blemishes and dust particles that have become embedded in the surface using an extremely fine sanding pad to avoid scratching the surface.Would say softer than the above metals but some grades of brass can be very hard. For example towel rails, in this case use the same process as steel above. Polishing knives and cutlery is known as fine glazing or blue glazing. Sand buffing, when used on German silver, white metal, etc., is technically a buffing operation because it uses a loose abrasive, but removes a significant amount of material, like polishing. [1] Equipment [ edit ] For finishing both compounds are very good but for the extra special job use the P175. But P164 for general finishing, 480W works well as it is a compound designed for Brass and Copper only.
