We can offer a paid service to build and deliver your BBQ. Please call us first, to discuss your requirements. We started out with regular grilling on the infrared grill. Results were evenly cooked and delicious. The results were consistent, not matter where on the grille food items were cooked.

Please note that BBQ's may arrive on a pallet due to the weight and size. Insurance restrictions mean the delivery driver will not be able to carry the barbecue up or down steps, through a property, wheel the pallet across a gravel driveway or up particularly steep driveways. Unfortunately, the delivery company we use are also unable to remove items from the pallet or take the pallet away with them. The driver will only be able to wheel the pallet as far as physically possible, which may only be kerbside. To add flavor, we injected the turkey with Tony Chachere's Creole-style butter marinade, rubbed it lightly with vegetable oil, and coated it generously in Cajun seasoning. The instructions specify avoiding any seasonings or rubs containing a lot of sugar, as it will burn in the fryer.The compact tray beneath the heating element collects all the drippings, which you can easily (and carefully) remove, pour into a saucepan, and whip up your favorite turkey gravy. Throughout the cooking process, the fryer was quiet and contained, without any visible flames or smoke. This fryer would be safe and easy to use even in a small outdoor area. Not to mention, it's an incredible way to make your turkey outdoors and free up precious oven space in your kitchen. Given that not everyone is a grill-master or has experience at/equipment for smoking meats, and traditional oil-filled turkey fryers can (understandably) be quite intimidating, I'd say this oil-less fryer could be just the right option for many home cooks who are preparing their family's Thanksgiving bird. To test out the smoker capabilities we decided to smoke a shoulder of pork for Sunday lunch. I filled up the smoker box with oak, taking care not to overfill as per the instructions, and turned the Char-Broil Big Easy on High, closing the lid. Once it started smoking, around 10 minutes later, it was time to lower the pork in. I placed the joint in the bottom of the basket with the thermometer inserted, then turned the heat to Low and left it to it. Like the grill on most BBQs, the Big Easy’s stainless-steel cooking chamber needs to be seasoned before first use. Following the guidelines, I used an oil spray bottle to blitz the interior with vegetable oil and then gave it a wipe down with a kitchen towel to get rid of any puddles. I then turned the Big Easy on the High setting and shut the lid to let it burn off.

For example, the grease tray was quite clunky to slide in and out and the smoker box didn’t latch on terribly smoothly. The two control switches also felt loose and plastic-y. In my opinion, wobbliness at these touchpoints can make the entire product feel cheaply made, even if that’s not the case. Great that I didn’t need a water pan:Due to the infrared heating technology, there is no need for a water pan. This means less clean-up and maintenance required. For an easier cleanup line the bottom of the cooking chamber with foil. Less clean-up and maintenance meant I had more time to enjoy meals with my family at end of a cook.Obviously, there is more than one technique in terms of smoking. You can either cold smoke (lower temperatures), hot smoke (high temperatures) and smoke roast. Smoke roasting is essentially barbequing. Other things you can smoke Decent sized wood chip tray:When you smoke with the Big Easy have the option to add wood chips. The wood trip tray holds up to a whopping half a pound of chips. We found that this gave our brisket a similar flavor to when we use our charcoal smoker. Today, when you look at the fancy cooking shows, they use a smoke gun and ultimately bring that smoky flavour to anything. I’ve once seen someone smoking a green tee ice cream. The safety factors are great—no flames and you don’t have to get rid of used oil. You have to be careful, however, not to touch anything on the equipment once it heats up. So if there are kids around, be EXTRA careful—no touching at all and no getting near the Big Easy. But, this is the same precaution you’d take with most all outdoor grills and young children. I've never deep-fried a turkey the traditional way, but this method felt infinitely safer than using a vat of oil. There was little mess to clean up afterward, too — just wiping out the inside of the fryer. If you've never cooked a whole turkey before, this has to be one of the simplest methods out there, and good for beginners (as long as you have help assembling it). If you're cooking for a big family, this fryer likely isn't for you — it can only hold a turkey up to 16 pounds, and I think that would be pushing it. On the plus side, I did admire the handy hanging spots around the Big Easy, which ensured all the BBQ tools and accessories were kept on board and close to hand. It also comes with a handy thermometer probe, plus clips for hanging ribs inside. And there’s no denying the materials used to make the Big Easy are top class. Almost like magic, you put your meat (or whatever you’re cooking—vegetables, pizza) in the basket. Turn the Big Easy on. Put the mesh lid on top. Then you walk away and do your thing. Mingle with your company, do a load or two of laundry, watch an episode of The Voice. You get the idea! You don’t need to worry about burning, overcooking, or having to turn and attend to what’s in that basket. How to Start Char Broil Big Easy Cooking a stuffed turkey in the infrared fryer is not recommended, as it takes too long to heat the middle to the recommended safe temperature of 165 degrees. (However, the USDA doesn't recommend stuffing a turkey for food safety reasons, anyway.)

Cook vegetables that require more time, like potatoes with your meat. I sliced my potatoes in halves. Here are some of my suggestions that can make your first experience even more productive based upon what I’ve learned. I’m sure as I do more recipes, I’ll have more ideas! The way I wanted to approach this beauty was from our lifestyle. Ben and I are empty-nesters. A lot of our cooking is just for the two of us or small dinner parties. We no longer do corporate entertaining nor do we have the huge Thanksgiving gatherings of years ago where we would deep-fry, yes, the old fashioned way, three or four turkeys for 30+ guests. So I wanted to see if this gizmo would be the real deal for our small gather of four of us for dinner.
