About this deal

I wasn’t attracted to Brandon. Was he hot? Hell yes, but from the moment I met him, I knew we were going to be great friends. We were too much alike. Would we make a good couple? No. Would we make the greatest dynamic duo ever? Absolutely. The synopsis on this book hooked me right in. I love me a brother’s best friend trope! The secrecy, the forbiddances, the angst! This book opens with Livy preforming on stage for a bachelor party at the club she works at. She’s doing her thing, she’s able to shut the world out and get what’s needed done. Only, she get recognized even though she’s wearing a mask… by her own brother! Why is he there?? And who’s getting married? Parker, the boy who broke her heart years ago forcing her to move away and cut everything from her past out of her life. I think my favorite part of the book is the opening chapter. We get a real and true glimpse of Livy and how she has been for the last few years. It’s hot and passionate and with so much feeling. I can feel her heart breaking second by second. With all of that this book had everything, I wanted in it. I loved the characters. They were real and flawed. Livy was just getting by and it hurt me to read her like this. That is what made me love them both. Parker was struggling as well. Parker was torn and so was Livy. I love love love, Brandon. His friendship with Livy and Staci was amazing. He was just a secondary character. Is it sad that I found myself rooting for him in this book? No, it isn’t becaue I am sure it was setting him up for future int his series. The friendship as well between Staci the ballbuster was awesome. She was great too and she told it like it was. Once they get the design right (via Lucy) and the color and texture combo right, laundering money in high enough volumes to cover their increasing costs becomes a challenge. Getting actual criminals involved doesn’t work out especially well either.

You know that saying never judge a book by it’s cover? Well let me tell you, never judge a book by its name. Where Good Girls Go To Die was not what I expected. It was a story that I fell in love with. That title though … those words “Where Good Girls Go To Die” they continue to haunt me. The season one pilot introduced the premise: Beth, Annie and Ruby decide to rob the store that Annie works in when they find themselves in dire financial states. Annie thinks there’s around 30k in the safe which would be enough to bail each of them out. But when they count the cash it’s closer to half a million.Annie’s kid who went by Sadie tells Annie in season two he’s a boy, and we understand that Annie wants money to help Sadie transition (there’s a reference made to particular drugs). In season three Sadie now goes by Ben which Annie accepts wholeheartedly, as does his dad Gregg, while Gregg’s second wife Nancy struggles initially to remember to call him Ben, and then overdoes it somewhat. While in season three Annie is struggling to get her life together, Ben is increasingly responsible and looks after his mum, including explaining to Annie’s new therapist Josh that she will become too attached and he mustn’t lead her on. New business The characters in this book are well-developed and multidimensional. Olivia is a relatable and strong protagonist who goes through a transformation from a good girl to a woman determined to protect her heart. Parker is the quintessential bad boy with a hidden tender side, and his internal struggles add depth to his character. The supporting characters also play significant roles, adding layers to the story and making it more engaging. The plot is well-paced, with the right balance of steamy romance and emotional depth. The tension between Olivia and Parker is electric, and their journey is filled with ups and downs that kept me hooked. The writing is emotive, and the author does an excellent job of capturing the angst and longing between the characters. Conclusion The story is filled with a wonderful cast of characters. Each character has that one trait that distinguishes them. It defines not only their personality and physical appearance it also adds luster and vitality to the storyline. Some you fall in love with, some make you laugh and some make you cringe with disgust. All characters are well-rounded, interesting and play a vital role in completing the storyline. That said, the story really centers around the two main characters, Livy and Parker. It was impossible not to become immersed in their lives. To feel their every emotion, thought and desire. To hope for, root for and pray for the ending I so desperately wanted to happen. My gaze slid to Parker, but he was swallowing down half his beer. I doubted she had truly heard that much about me. At least not the parts that mattered.

Beth, barely able to contain her glee, tells Rio, "You work for me now." To which Rio responds, "You got it, boss."So, that’s what I did for the first couple days. I settled into the guest room of my brother’s beautiful house, and I hid out. So instead of begging my brother to leave me behind, I came up with a game plan. Really, it was more like a ground rule.

If you’ve not read Where Good Girls Go to Die- it’s the perfect encapsulation of all that I love about Holly’s romances. So much angst, passionate emotions, and a painful and heart touching journey to get to that HEA. Parker and Liv are also classic Holly Renee characters- they are WILDLY imperfect. They make mistakes…many. And mistakes that hurt each other. It brings a gritty realism to their connection.Spiraling out of control. I never wanted to stop, because for the first time in a very long time, I felt like I wasn’t broken anymore. The madness inside me settled, and I knew, that no matter what happened from this moment forward, I would never recover from Parker James.” But then he broke my heart as easily as I fell for him. He watched me fall, spiraling out of control, and as I reached for him, he wasn’t there to catch me. Is this all that you’ve been up to today?” He pushed my feet out of his way and sat down next to me. What kind of barbarian do you take me for? Of course, we’ll have a secret handshake. Don’t worry, Parker.” He looked up at his friend who was still watching us. “I’ll keep it clean since her brother is right there.” By the time Mason made it home from work, I was chin deep in a fluffy white blanket on his couch binge watching Game of Thrones.
