About this deal

Greasy hair can be a bit of a faff. I know this. As a firsthand sufferer of oily roots, I understand (all too well) the frustration that comes with having to shampoo your hair every god damn day. Aaand don't even get me started on the the moment of pure panic brought on by realising your dry shampoo is about to run out...

I did not use this product for more than a couple of months, I no longer use it anyway as I didn't like it but my sister used it for at least 2-3 years and her hair condition is quite poor - she usually has a dry scalp, she is always losing lots of hair and it makes her unhappy so now that we have worked out that the 'OGX' shampoos and conditioners may very well be the cause of her hair related issues, I wanted to share this to this sub incase anyone is considering using those products or they are already using those products as they may be causing your hair issues. When it comes to your scalp, it’s delivering those same benefits, just for the skin on your head. It is said to be particularly beneficial for those dealing with scalp issues such as dryness, itching, flakes, and even full-on dandruff. Not to mention that the essential oil innately feels refreshing, a major win for anyone who craves that ultra-clean, totally refreshed sensation. The easiest way to reap these benefits? With a tea tree oil shampoo, of course. Yup, I've tested and reviewed the most effective shampoos for greasy hair in the UK, to bring you a definitive ranking of the very best. The photograph below shows what the OGX Apple Cider Vinegar shampoo and conditioner look like when they come out of the bottle. Key Ingredients This OGX shampoo calms flyaway strands and frizz with kukui nut oil, which is an ancient Hawaiian hair remedy. It contains a humidity resistant formula that leaves hair smooth, shimmering and glossy. Kukui nut oilhas also been used for centuries in Hawaii to stimulate hair growth. At Dandruff Deconstructed, we’re in the business of getting to the bottom and truth of shampoos and other hair products and seeing if they truly meet up to their message.

The shampoo is sulfate-free and instead uses a handful of gentler surfactants that may reduce the risk of irritation. It’s an approach we’re seeing more and more these days. Our tolerance of an ingredient is directly linked to the amount of the ingredient we’re exposed to. By using multiple cleansing/foaming agents in smaller doses, we’re less likely to react to those ingredients. We’re all for it. Organix describes their Tea Tree Mint Shampoo has having energizing and balancing ingredients, like tea tree and peppermint oil, and milk proteins, to strengthen and moisturize the scalp. Tea tree oil (also known as Melaleuca) is a natural compound found mainly in Australia is a strong anti-fungal and antibacterial agent that’s used in many personal care products and even natural cleaning products. The shampoo left my hair scented of mint and did a good job at reducing frizz and adding moisture. For a sulfate free shampoo I was also impressed at how well it lathered! Unfortunately, this shampoo seems like a safe, natural option at first glance, but is made up of a weird combination of both gentle ingredients and harmful ones that are known irritants and allergens. This shampoo was the most refreshing and cooling shampoo I’ve ever tried! In the bottle it smells like mint chocolate chip but when you start massaging it into your hair the tea tree and witch hazel scents start to come through.Although I couldn’t find any scientific studies which showed that apple cider vinegar strengthened the the hair, I did find a study showing that shampoos with a lower pH level (like an apple cider vinegar shampoo) generate less negative static electricity on the hair. This means less frizz and dryness. Pros

Diazolidinyl Urea, an antimicrobial preservative that releases formaldehyde and is a known human toxicant and allergen. This shampoo is far from gentle or natural, and we definitely recommend vigilance if you have sensitive skin. And if you are simply looking for a gentle tea tree shampoo, there are alternatives. With a name like Organix and a slogan that says “we’re beauty, pure and simple,” it’s easy to assume that this hair care company is strict about using only safe, natural ingredients in their products.

Both the shampoo and conditioner have a really nice apple scent. I found that the scent also lasts on your hair after you rinse the product out.
