About this deal

Liz is Godmother to her best friend's daughters, and now, since her friend has passed away, she is feeling estranged from them and hoping to rekindle a familiar friendship. She’s not shy about exploring issues like illness, alcoholism and war, but ultimately her stories are about relationships, about people, about love. Years ago, Liz had built a catering business with the girls’ late mother, Jen and with times being hard and money being in very short supply, the business is in danger of going under – unless Skye and Clare can help her save it. Another thing that I love about Cathy's writing is that despite some hard hitting subjects and some unpleasant people and situations she never resorts to offensive language or graphic sexual descriptions.

The Sunrise Sisterhood by Cathy Bramley | Waterstones

With characters who are so real they will feel like old friends by the end of the book, laugh-out loud humour, intense emotion and heart-wrenching pathos, Cathy Bramley’s The Sunrise Sisterhood needs to be in every one’s beach bag this summer. Not perfect by any means, but she means well, is caring, loving, and wants the best for everyone, but is struggling herself. It's our mission to cultivate connections through shared experiences, celebrating each other's successes and providing encouragement through challenges. For a list of winners please send a stamped envelope to News UK, Competitions Department, 1 London Bridge Street, London, SE1 9GF stating for which competition you would like winners’ details. It felt good to snort with laughter (the misunderstanding at the business meeting is a classic), feel uncomfortable in places (the catered birthday party springs to mind – funny to watch on the outside but painful because of why), cry tears of sadness and happiness.Well what a fabulous read, I do love books set in small towns with characters that are starting again and this was no exception. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value in the event that circumstances beyond their control make this unavoidable. This time we've got death and grief, single parenting, relationship difficulties, alcohol dependency, loneliness, deception, identity questions, employment struggles, sexuality, unrequited love, and they're just right. I decided to put the real life Nancy Neele aside, and instead created a fictional mistress whose story I could fashion out of whole cloth.

Coming Up With “The Big Idea” - My Weekly Coming Up With “The Big Idea” - My Weekly

The book is a poignant multigenerational read about sisterhood, relationships and women being there for each other, as well as exploring more difficult themes including grief and single parenthood.

Where a competition involves a voting process: offering or receiving any incentive for voting is not permitted and will invalidate the vote, and may disqualify the recipient of the vote. I had forgotten I had already tried this author, but at least I did finish this one (unlike The Summer That Changed Us) but I can't say I have changed my opinion enough to make me consider reading any more of her books.
