About this deal

The Adidas Powerlift 4 has a rigid midsole, much like most weightlifting footwear out there. It’s made out of high-density EVA foam, crafted to resist compression when lifting the heaviest of weights. The straps on weightlifting shoes are designed to help keep the foot secure and prevent it from moving inside the shoe during heavy lifts. These uppers are constructed with a lightweight ripstop material that’s comfortable and very breathable. Six perforated holes beneath the laces help promote additional venting. In the Adipower 2, Adidas chose a much simpler approach. They went for a basic, solid construction that looks somewhat similar to the Nordic Powerlifting Shoes. After covering the midsole construction, let’s take a look at the structures supporting the midfoot area. Adipower 2

If you’re mostly interested in powerlifting, the Romaleos 4 should be your best bet. The extra ounces will literally “cement” your feet to the ground, which is more than ideal for squats and deadlifts. The Adidas AdiPowers are one of Adidas’s most popular lifting shoes to date. They could be considered thein-between model of the Adidas PowerLift (lower heel/powerlifting focused) and the Adidas Leistung models (higher heel/weightlifting focus). In addition, they paved the way for Adidas’s use of the popularized TPU heel. There’s only one scenario when I could see this heel height being an issue and that’s with lifters for special requirements. For example, taller and shorter athletes may benefit from a specific height, and not the standard.75″ heel. Heel Construction The strap on the Adipower II’s is made from the same textile material as the rest of the shoe. It sits a bit higher, right around the arch of the foot. Power Perfect III

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This shoe’s high-density TPU heel is stable under heavy squats and when weightlifting. I don’t think any lifters or athletes will have issues with this shoe’s overall stability for big squats, heavy cleans, and snatches. At the end of the day, the type of training you do will influence how good these feel on your feet. The design of the Adipower 2 is leaning towards the basic, minimalist side, which is in sharp contrast to its predecessor. The simple, clean look is highlighted by the use of a monochromatic color palette.

The materials used in building the upper can have a direct effect on your performance. As you’ll see, Adidas stepped up their upper construction game across both models. Adipower 2 When it comes to hybrid lifting (CrossFit® style workouts), I wouldn’t recommend this shoe. I think their design is much more oriented towards Olympic lifting, but you canuse them in a functional setting. I personally like a flatter heel for CrossFit style workouts, so I think the AdiPower design may be an issue for some lifters in this setting, but that’s my bias. Another major difference between these models is their midsole and sole constructions. The Powerlift 5’s midsole is built with a high-density EVA foam, and the Adidas Adipower 3’s midsole is composed of a high-density TPU. To discuss the performance of the Adidas Adipower 3, I’m going to break down how this shoe performs for squats, weightlifting, and recreational lifting.

Unlike the Adipower II’s, the Power Perfect III’s midsole is made out of high-density EVA. The Power Perfect III’s also have a die-cut wedge platform that provides a stable base for lifting. The Adipower 3 has a similar fit and last construction as prior models, so for my diehard Adipower fans, this shoe will work fine for you, especially if you love the Adipower models for weightlifting. While it’s not the biggest deal for most general lifters, this variance can matter for athletes who are more specific with their sport and lifting mechanics. For example, if you’re a weightlifter that like training with a higher heel, you’ll want to consider this. If I had to compare this model to the original Adipower and the Adipower II, I’d say this model definitely gives me original Adipower vibes, which could be a good thing for folks like myself who loved the original model. The Romaleos 4 are among the few true-to-size powerlifting shoes. You can wear your normal size without encountering any problems whatsoever. Romaleos 4 SE

The strap bears a full fabric construction free of any leather reinforcements. It’s a hook-and-loop mechanism where the strap runs through a steel loop. Before we move on to the detailed comparison, let’s have a brief look at each model. Adidas Adipower 2 For instance, if you prefer low bar squats, wearing flat shoes guarantees ideal support. On the other hand, high bar squats need a high heel to achieve a sufficient squatting depth. This is an excellent deal, considering all of the features and the amount of stability you get with this shoe. The Winner: Power Perfect IIIThe first thing to like about the Adidas Adipower 3 is their overall stability. This model features a high-density TPU midsole and heel construction, providing nice stability for heavy lifts. The Adipower II’s and Power Perfect III’s both have a heel height of 0.75”. This is a common heel height for lifting shoes because it allows most lifters to get into the proper position for squats, cleans, and snatches. The Winner: Tie Adidas has been a big name in the weightlifting shoe market since the 2004 release of the Adidas Adistars.

Flexibility: The flexibility of the shoe means they aren’t ideal for very heavy lifts, but they’re good for CrossFit WODs or workouts that combine squats with other movements. The Power Perfect’s are true to size for me, but I should point out the fact that they aren’t available in women’s sizes.

Takeaway Thoughts

The Adidas Adipower 2 is made from Primegreen, a recycled fabric that contains no new plastic or polyester, and 50% of the upper mesh is made from recycled content as well. The material doesn’t result in any substantial difference when it comes to performance or functionality, but it’s nice to see companies take steps to reduce their carbon footprint. All applicable customs and import duties and any other charges are the responsibility of the customer. If you have additional sizing and fit questions about the Adidas Adipower 3 or how they compare to other weightlifting shoes, drop a comment below. Price Breakdown As I mentioned above, the upper construction of the Adipower 2 and the Powerlift 4 pretty similar. So, it shouldn’t surprise anyone when I tell you that the upper here is also made using textile instead of leather. The effective heel height of the Adidas AdiPower’sis .75 inches or 20.1millimeters, which makes this model similar to other popular lifters.
