Tapping the gear icon in the upper right corner takes you to the Camera Settings screen. Here you can turn the camera on and off, enable auto night vision, configure motion and sound detection settings (including person and pet detection), choose a video quality setting for streaming and recording, enable notifications, and enable continuous recording if you have a microSD card installed. There’s also a Pet Command feature that will play a recording when the camera detects a pet. You can use the included “Hey, what are you doing there,” response or create your own custom recording using your voice.

Eufy Video Doorbell : This 1080p doorbell offers expandable microSD storage on its chime accessory. It's a more affordable way to get local storage on a video doorbell than Eufy's 2K model. The Eufy SoloCam E40 differs from Eufy's other battery-powered cameras by skipping the HomeBase hub. Instead, it connects directly to your home Wi-Fi network like a smartphone would. This makes it easier to set up and a little cheaper than the brand's other wireless 2K cameras. Editors' Note: This was previously known as the Eufy Solo IndoorCam C24. It comes with a HomeBase 2 base station that handles storage, internet, and smart home protocols like Apple HomeKit. This extends battery life beyond what a purely Wi-Fi camera like Eufy SoloCam can do—six months instead of four. Motion and sound alerts arrived instantly, as did recorded video using the microSD card slot. Intelligent motion detection worked well for filtering out motion events from all but people and pets.
