About this deal

I loved the evil main character Marsha Sprinkle - she's the best of Desperate Living's Peggy Gravel and Female Trouble's Dawn Davenport, and her every scene is a hoot. Adora Sprinkle is an unlicensed Upper East Side plastic surgeon who performs cosmetic tweaks on pets.

Worse, when you follow him outside, you see him completely change his appearance by shucking a wig and a button down shirt, dropping them into the nearest trash can. He was underage and couldn't enter the bar proper, but loitered in the adjacent alley, where he relied on the kindness of patrons to slip him drinks. Spotlighting many of his longtime collaborators, it also features a new interview with Waters and texts by curators Jenny He and Dara Jaffe, film historian Jeanine Basinger, film critic and cultural theorist B. Other films he has written and directed include Desperate Living (1977), Polyester (1981), Cry-Baby (1990), Serial Mom (1994), Pecker (1998), and Cecil B. The fact that at 76 you can make a novel that is shocking and scandalous, I assume you take pride in that?

Before parting ways, Waters arranged for Bidle to stay at his San Francisco apartment: "I thought, you know what, he wanted an adventure, too . His most recent exhibition John Waters: Indecent Exposure was exhibited at the Baltimore Museum of Art from October 2018 to January 2019 and later traveled to the Wexner Center for the Arts. Appearing in this and many of Waters's early films, his star Divine would consistently challenge gender definitions. I feel bad for young people though, they can’t be dirty, they can’t go out and have sex, what do they do? In recognition of the donation, the museum named its rotunda after Waters, but Waters also insisted the museum name an all-gender bathroom after him.

Art critic and broadcaster Alastair Sooke, accompanied by some of the world's leading creative thinkers, takes an in-depth look at the outstanding exhibits in New York's MoMA, exploring how the way we 'see' art is shaped by our experiences and perspectives. He rose to fame in the early 1970s for his transgressive cult films, including Multiple Maniacs (1970), Pink Flamingos (1972) and Female Trouble (1974). Dubbed the “Pope of Trash,” Waters has made his career on rebelling against the “tyranny of good taste” with delightful glee. She is your enemy in an airport and after you read this book, you will want to watch your bags a little closer. Maybe not about the needless crap they tried to teach her in school, but about important stuff like how to put things over on other people who think they have the right to speak to her before being spoken to first. Earlier this month, he released his first novel – Liarmouth: A Feel-Bad Romance – a novel that defies neat synopsising as much as his films do. In 2019, the Film Society of Lincoln Center celebrated its 50th anniversary at a gala where John Waters spoke in tribute to the Center along with Martin Scorsese, Dee Rees, Pedro Almodovar, Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Moore, Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan.

And Jean Genet and Marguerite Duras, William Burroughs, all the ones that caused trouble when they were young. In attempting to reinvigorate the experience of movie-going with his shock comedy, Waters has been willing to take the chance of offending nearly everyone. That often identical canned laughter tracks have been used redundantly on countless albums and sitcoms for decades is all the eerier. How it’s never going back and now we have to look at movies, sex, TV, fashion, anger, protest, everything, how it’s so completely different now. Yet at the same time, I don’t judge people because you don’t know what has happened to them to get them to where they are. That's the start of an adventure that just gets stranger and stranger and had me laughing out loud several times and I'm more of a wry grin kind of guy usually.
