However, hydroelectric power plants are damaging to the environment. When a river is dammed, it creates a large lake behind the dam. This lake (sometimes called a reservoir) drowns the original river habitat deep underwater. Sometimes, people build dams that can drown entire towns underwater. The people who live in the town or village must move to a new area.

The grids are at their strongest between 12.00 midnight and 3.00a.m. and at their weakest at 5.00p.m.; they are influenced by earthquakes and weather conditions, and are weaker in fog; they do not rise vertically but at an angle which can change a few degrees during the night; and, unlike underground streams, they are not influenced by phases of the moon. John Matthews, a research professor at University of Utah’s department of physics and astronomy in the US, said: “Things that people think of as energetic, like supernova, are nowhere near energetic enough for this.Today his work on this idea is simply interpreted to mean that every thought we think affects every aspect of our reality. Mano further explained: "What's interesting about Glastonbury, and what I feel makes it so powerful, is that this double line crosses itself in three places in the town, creating an area of ground of the full polarity of energy. I went to a dinner party the other day, all the others at the party were experimenting with dowsing and claimed to experience a force in the dowsing rods. Needless to say I experienced no such phenomenon. I struggle to understand how so many well-educated people cal fall for this type of clap-trap! It's all in the mind - wake up!

As a scientist who has spent many years researching Glastonbury and ley lines throughout Somerset and Wiltshire in particular, I am convinced of the existence of these energy lines. We may still have no certain explanation of the phenomena, but it is very far from being confined to England and is recognised in many parts of the world under various names. And Glastonbury, on many levels, remains indeed one of the most amazing places on the planet. Most electricity generated from biomass is produced by directly burning it. The biomass fuel is burned in a boiler to produce high-pressure steam. This steam flows over a series of turbine blades, causing them to rotate. The rotation of the turbine drives a generator, producing electricity.

The Michael (masculine) line sweeps through from Glastonbury High Street across the Mary (feminine) line, and they merge together near the High Altar in the Abbey. These channels can be seen clairvoyantly, sensed as feelings through the body, or dowsed with hazel twigs or metal rods. They have been known since ancient times - the mythic symbolism for them was the serpent, snake or dragon.

Scientists and engineers are constantly working to harness other renewable energy sources. Three of the most promising are tidal energy, wave energy, and algal (or algae) fuel. Oschman JL, Chevalier G, Brown R. The effects of grounding (Earthing) on inflammation, the immune response, wound healing, and prevention and treatment of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. J Inflamm Res. 2015;8:83-96. As I wanted to experience the feeling of standing on these crossing places myself, Mano took me on a tour, to show me exactly where they are. But not all of it is bad. Some of the energy we encounter can be healthy and very positive for us, such as the love we experience in some personal relationships. But unfortunately, not all forms of energy are positive and healthy, and some may even challenge us. The places where the double line of energy crosses itself in Glastonbury are the Abbey ruins, the Chalice Well gardens, and the Glastonbury Tor (see the map above).

Renewable energy resources are replaced by nature in less than a human lifetime. They will never run out Through an exploration of the nature and scope of earth energies, analysing the energies running across the land, we will discover how we can interact with them, how to identify whether they are beneficial to the individual and how to apply dowsing techniques to connect to the Genus Loci – the protective Spirit of Place.

A second type of line is exemplified by the garden design of the Palais de Versailles, and the 41 lines radiating from the Sun Temple in the middle of Cuzco, central Peru, along which shrines, temples, graves, sacred hills, bridges and battlefields lie. These are derived from the deliberate imposition of a geometrical design (resonant with the central temple design) upon the landscape, as a vehicle for political-theocratic control of a nation.

Mano continued: "So, we've got a message from the earth of that balanced polarity again - the masculine and the feminine energies, this time focused more strongly in the heart. Taking that analogy a step further, the crossing point on the Tor would relate to the head." Simple earth acupuncture on the local Sha water lines can go a long way towards cleaning up these grids, though permanent standing stones or cairns may be useful to filter and discharge ongoing electro-pollution in the grids.
