About this deal

I have been reading a lot of posts on this great forum since then, never dared posting as I could find most of the answers here, and was not knowledgeable enough to help I think. It's important to note that the electrical values of the current MP110 models may be different than the old MP11 (no idea if they are or not). Correct overhang set up can minimise the issue, but not quite completely, in my opinion unfortunately.

It will indeed pick up flaws, mainly due to the high output, flattish frequency response, extreme stylus profile, and other design factors. top end and high midrange was noticably restricted, high treble in particular sounded muffled and generally absent.

For jazz and classical I could easily live the MP-200 and never feel the need to hear anything better. pk: Actually, I'd suggest neither the 2M Red, nor the MP110 or MP11 for the light arm of your T45C (nice table by the way - would also fit nicely to my hk825/hk870 pre-/power-amp combo. So while it may not have been your recommendation, I “went back” and never missed either of those AT95s for a second.

The sound which pleases our ears is something personal to each one of us and manufacturers know that. We found its square casing easy to fit and align, and from the outset our sample gave a bright, immediate sound that would work well in pepping up a dull system. I read an article on how to translate the Nagoaka compliancy specs, but I'll have to dig up that article. the AT 440mlb , I tried one of those for a while and didn't really like the sound, I found it a bit 'bright' and tiring to listen to . Conicals and cheap ellipticals are fine for old jazz records, tamely cut music from the 50s and 60s, even audiophile reissues of such.I have not mentioned them, because I thought I would discover other audio brands as to further my experience, but only for that reason.

the former mostly for being too clunky for the slim headshell design and the latter for being rather clunky as well, but mainly for only moderate compliance. Before the hype I didn't even know much about that brand Nagaoka, beides they make nice inner sleeves. Look at the KAB gain calculator to get an idea of how much gain you need and try to guesstimate where your mixer settings need to be.I was able to get a fairly flat response by loading down to 39K and using 100pf at the phono preamp and low capacitance cables. OP didn't give a lot of background info, and I gave my "from the hip" opinion like everyone else to start with. The MP-110 reveals a sweet midrange, although we'd like some more bass weight to support its light and breezy character.
