They are self-pollinating (you will only need one tree to produce fruit) but very few of the blossoms will turn into fruit, and you will find that many of the young fruit drops from the tree at various stages of their growth. Misting the flowers daily, however, will prevent this from happening. Once you have a thriving tree if you want more, propagate it from softwood cuttings rather than seeds. What are softwood cuttings? They come from branches that are not brand new or too old and dried out. You can tell if a branch is a good candidate to cut from when they snap if you bend them. New ones just bend and ones that are too old are brittle. Once you find the right aged branches and cut them take the lowest set of leaves off. Dwarf varieties of citrus trees growing in pots need a lot of sunshine. Plant them or put the potted trees in a sunny part of your garden. Ideally, lemon, lime, and orange trees need at least 6 to 8 hours of sunshine daily.

Did you only think you could grow fruit trees outdoors? With a little extra attention, you can grow these indoor potted trees easily and have citrus fruit almost year-round. Tangerines are also a mandarin hybrid. Their fruit is sweet and the peel is firm. Have patience with these ones as it takes up to 1 ½ years for fruit.
