About this deal

New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . Fence panels are supposed to move (more on that later) but the issues start when they rattle against the fence posts, making for not a very nice noise… especially at night.

The ties are better than nails or screws because they don’t go through the fence board and make it harder to remove. To reduce the chances of sagging, construct posts with concrete footings rather than just setting them in the ground. Measure out the inside of your post (the bit that goes into the ground) and cut a length of sealant equal to this measurement plus an extra 5cm (2 inches). An easy, cheap solution to the problem of fence panels rattling or clanking in the wind is a strip of silicone sealant. Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). If quality posts and panels are used then the movement is usually restricted as the panel fits better but if cheap posts or panels are used then the panels often do not fit the posts and end up rattling annoyingly in the wind. The movement is necessary to allow the fence to move with temperature changes, which can cause wood to shrink or expand. Hi, the best thing I've found is cutting some wedges of wood and sliding the in between the fence and the concrete post best to screw them in place if possible to help secure the fence in the post channel.

We all know how annoying a banging or rattling fence panel is, with our Fence Panel Wedges this problem is solved quickly and easily. You are not supposed to "chock" them with wedges as when the panels are dry they can become brittle and in high winds often split in half if there is no movement allowed. This can be achieved by inserting a wedge on both sides of the panels to tighten them against the fence post. The panels are designed to move in the wind so each panel of the fence independently takes the impact. The easiest way I found to stop them moving too much is to put a screw through the panel and just tighten it up so it bites on the concrete , as you would if you were fixing the panel to a wooden post (do not over tighten as the concrete post will move ) Pete.
