The author is a Dutch IM, trainer and youth coach of the Dutch Chess Federation, so has ample experience and knows whereof he speaks.

Chess masters and trainers Franco Masetti and Roberto Messa have done both: they explain the basic tactical ideas AND provide an enormous amount of exercises for each different theme. But i kinda wanted some review from players, here, of what they thought on particular books i listed. By far and away, the quickest and most effective way to improve your chess performance is to increase your tactical skill so that at a glance you are able to see the typical mating patterns and material-winning tactical motifs that so often decide a game. I've gotten a few Chessable courses and have been doing a bunch of tactics to try shake some of the rust off.

com rating is over 2000 and I found the book enjoyable and I was challenged by many of the problems. This one looks a little more complicated that the others (from the reviews I read) but still good enough to be on the list.
