This initial 'pattern' was broken with the fifth film in 1961, Carry On Regardless, but it still followed a similar plot to that of many of the early films—a small group of misfit newcomers to a job make comic mistakes, but come together to succeed in the end. The second Carry On film to be shot in colour, Carry On Jack was originally intended to be a separate film from the series, and had the pre-production title of "Up the Armada". Carry On Up the Jungle had the pre-production title of "Carry On Tarzan" but was changed as the name "Tarzan" was owned by the estate of Edgar Rice Burroughs. The head of a temp agency (Sid James) finds that all the people on his books are incapable of performing the odd jobs they are hired for. The films were scored by three different composers: Bruce Montgomery from 1958–62; [7] Eric Rogers (1963–75, 1977–78) [8] and Max Harris who scored the 1976 film Carry On England.Talbot Rothwell was busy with other writing commitments when approached by Rogers for another holiday-based Carry On, so Dave Freeman was enlisted to complete the screenplay for what would become the 27th film in the series.
