Seriously, like always since Fall 2018, when the D3500 came out: no DSLM does have its Battery Runtime (CIPA 1550 shots - into real life, way much more). It's aimed at new camera users but it's a fine second body for experienced users; especially if you aren't married to any particular brand or style of camera. And as mirrorless cameras continue to gain traction in the market, DSLRs will increasingly look outdated and behind the times. A camera like that, possibly slightly updated but with IBIS would be a huge seller, now not even the z50 has IBIS (I never understood the logic about leaving IBIS out of the DSLRs and the z50, now when they have the technology)! T3: this is a mistake everyone does - giving the analogy of film vs digital or internal combustion vs electric.
The range from ISO 100-800 produced test images that were more or less indistinguishable from each other, and noise at ISO 1600 was pretty nicely controlled – certainly well enough to expect good quality prints. i sold my a6000 for that reason, though i didn't really love using it from an ergonomics perspective either. LOL, people say the same thing about EVERY new technology, whether it be auto exposure, or auto focus, or image stabilization, or TTL flash, or digital cameras that offer instant image review on an LCD, etc. My main point however was that the OVFs on budget crop sensor DSLRs are too dim and of too low magnification, and that the EVF on a MILC will be larger, brighter and clearer. Picture Control modes can be directly accessed via a dedicated button and allow you to set predefined looks to imagery in-camera, and include Flat, Landscape, Monochrome, Neutral, Portrait, Standard, Vivid, and user-customizable settings.Nikon probably don't like that, so they keep gimping their entry level cameras so they cannot compete.
Usability for beginners is straightforward: point the camera at a subject, doink the red button and the camera does the rest. Even a camera targeted at smartphoners upgrading to a "real" camera deserves a more thorough review, and one that includes a full list of specifications, not just a bullet list of key takeaways.
