About this deal

Also, the cable is more basic than basic and indeed, changing it as soon as possible is advisable….if you manage to connect another one without going crazy!! Bass: The bass feels very coherent and textured. I would say the bass is one of the main strengths of the A5000. It has some punch and even some slam when required to do so. I looked up the driver configuration after blind listening and was surprised. I would have assumed a 4BA or hybrid setup, but it’s just one DD. The bass texture through to the mids is the strength of this IEM. It helps acoustic music and male vocals come through clean and easy. The bass is surely a positive of this IEM overall, but for a budget single DD the IE200 is still my go to option. The IE200 can better separate bass texture and amount from the mids while also doing the other regions more justice. 6/10 Great bass, nice build, quality accessories. There is a lot to like about the A500 especially at this price. Great release by Final Audio. It makes me want to hear some of their other offerings. Attachments

Final Audio A5000 – Again, the bass is so good here. Deep and textured. There are touches of sibilance her voice but it’s not too bad. In short, this iem cooks the A4000 in almost every way I see, with my library. Timbre was way more accurate on the A4000. The stage, although not as deep, but way wider and more holographic. Bass is noticeably thumpier with better texture, although A4000’s bass have faster transient. Female vocal sounds more lively and correct compare to A4000. Instruments like hihats and cymbal strike sounds straight up better than the A4000 due to better sustain and decay, which also means I observe more micro details on the Oxygen. Now, if A4000 is so good, how about A3000? After all, the ingredients, housing, driver and cable, are all the same. True, except for the tuning! Final, with A3000, wanted to create an IEM which has the merits of A4000, as to balance, transparency, soundstage and image, but with a warmer touch. The extra warmth is reflected in the whole of the audio spectrum, and this makes A3000 to be less engaging, but more relaxing. It is not going to make you shake with the music, as A4000 will, but it is perfect for a session of an easy yet quality listening. It is also quite interesting that A3000 is much less dynamic than A4000; I am not sure if this is the result of the warmer sound signature of A3000 or independent of it. Their musicality remains quite serious and mature, but never boring: they are iem's that wake up with their alert rendering, always focus.I have the Final A4000 and with little tweaks with EQ in the upper midrange (copying the Final A8000) they are the nicest IEMs I've ever heard. The cable was quite hard to fit properly when connecting the 2-pin to the shell, and took some effort. More than I would have liked, and I was very careful to fit the two together. Even with that, it took more effort than it should. I worry about taking the cable on/off repeatedly such as switching cables as a result. The insert is in fact recessed, so not all aftermarket cables will work. Not to worry as the included 3.5se OFC is quite decent. VR3000: My first Final, I liked it, big sub-bass but not basshead levels, a little mushy in general, weird mids, heavy V shape sound so recessed mids, even then they maintain nice clarity but sometimes male voices almost disappear lol, safe highs but little sibilance and not very detailed.

Either way, this was a great review to write. Much respect to both companies for making such high quality IEMs at reasonably attainable price points. The development of the A series began with the establishment of a new evaluation method by analysing the relationship between sound quality and physical characteristics; the result was the A8000. The A5000 has further evolved that evaluation method. As a result of a new research targeting an evaluation method that matches the actual music listening situation. Based in Singapore, the distribution arm of Project Perfection Pte Ltd distributes carefully curated audio products. Campfire Audio, Chord Electronics, Dan Clark Audio (antes MrSpeakers), EAR Micro, Eleven XIAudio, Enleum, FiiO, FIR Audio, Focal, Focusrite, Fostex, Grado, HarmonicDyne, HeadAmp, Hifiman, JBL, Kefine, Kiwi Ears, Klipsch, LETSHUOER, Mark Levinson, As mentioned before, there is a dip in the mids that affects male vocals a bit more than female. It is not huge, but it is there. This is not a major issue to me but wanted to point it out.

NEWLY DESIGNED 2-PIN SOFT SILVER COATED CABLE

The impedance of A4000 is 18 ohm. Although the sensitivity is only 100 db/mW. Therefore it requires a little bit more power to drive the A4000 compared to the IE80 (16 ohm, 125 db/mW). I knew that Final intended to create a whole new A series of IEMs, and obviously the new series would contain higher as well as lower priced models. So, two things were going around my mind: Let me be honest by putting my biases upfront: on a strictly subjective level, I connect with the Final Audio A5000 in a very particular and personal way. So if you were to ask me, sure, my preferences lie with Final Audio’s A5000 – in the sense that I like it more than many IEMs that are multiples of its price. At first, I really struggled with the fit on these. Sometimes I have issues with my right ear with IEMs but this one seemed harder than most. It may be the angle of the nozzle. I also have issues with 64 Audio IEMs. I’m not sure if it is the shape of the shell or the angle of the nozzle. I tried 15 different tips of various brands, styles, and sizes. The medium final audio tips with deeper insertion seemed to get the best sound and fit. A good fit is essential for these. They have little forgiveness for a bad seal.
