About this deal

This sounds a lot like the P2P bracing in the Q Acoustics 3020i, which worked well to optimize cabinet vibration reduction, thus cleaning up the midrange.

The voice coil is wound on a high-power epoxy/glass fibre bobbin highly unusual in speakers at this price level. This has the advantage of not adding eddy currents and delivering greater power handling than an aluminium bobbin, whilst also being much stiffer than the Kapton type associated with this price-class. DIAMOND highs The dome of 25 mm is made from a woven polyester foil with a high-loss coating to deliver open and even extended high frequencies. The magnet system and the front plate are optimized for wide spread and uncompressed behavior. The front plate is flat and allows the dome exposed as much as possible; only a very short tube on the front plate compensates for the acoustic load and improves the SPL (sound pressure level) measurement. Those speakers will be placed in ~12 square meter room (from couch to speakers there would be ~ 2.5 meters), so the room itself is quite small, and don't plan to listen to them very loud in general as I don't want my neighbors to hate me. As the first version potentially I'm going to listen to them using my iPad directly connected and then at some point in time plan to buy some streamer so that would have spotify/tidal connection options as well as airplay. And also thinking about Rega vinyl turntable in the future as well. We’re impressed by the seamless integration between the drive units and the way these speakers convey Cherry’s voice with such confidence. The Diamonds sound subtle and insightful with this album, and communicate the passion in the music really well. The KlarityTM diaphragms are driven by a substantial, precision-made magnet system with an aluminium compensation ring to minimise the effect of variations in inductance as the voice coil travels. This contributes to an absence of distortion and intermodulation generated by the motor system. A voice coil beyond this classWhat’s more, the speakers are able to handle high volumes without any distortion or muddiness. The bass response is tight and punchy, and the treble is crisp and clear without being overly bright. The soundstage and imaging are class-leading, plus the bass is fast, deep, and precise. I personally could use just a touch more warmth and richness in the upper bass and low mids, but I haven’t heard another speaker at this price range with such precise separation and placement. This latest Diamond standmount is a complete redesign. That means it’s a total departure in both looks and sound from the previous model. While the Diamond 11 with its curved enclosure trended toward smoothness and warmth, the Diamond 12 with its box enclosure now moves toward greater precision and enhanced dynamics. As such, it has a faster, more agile sound. Wharfedale follows standard industry practice by using the same tweeter throughout the Diamond 12 range. It’s a 25mm coated woven polyester soft dome, and a good one it is too. A carefully shaped faceplate leaves as much of the dome exposed as possible, and the contouring closest to the dome is there to provide a small degree of horn loading.

Wharfedale speakers have won multiple awards over the years, recognizing their outstanding sound quality, innovative design, and overall value. Here are some of the most notable awards that Wharfedale speakers have won: Stereophile Recommended Components: Wharfedale speakers have been featured in Stereophile's Recommended Components list, which is a comprehensive guide to the best audio equipment on the market. The Diamond 225 and Diamond 11.1 bookshelf speakers, as well as the Jade 3 and Jade 7 floor-standing speakers, have all been recommended by Stereophile for their outstanding performance. Inside the cabinet, Intelligent Spot Bracing optimally reduces cabinet resonance. The stiffeners were accurately modelled by computer simulation for this purpose. Speaker sensitivity is 88 dB, recommended amplifier power 20-120W, maximum sound pressure (SPL) 96dB, frequency response (+/- 3dB) 50Hz ~ 20kHz, dimensions (L x W x D) 335 x 200 x (285 + 28) mm, the weight is 8.2 kg / pc. Wharfedale Diamond 12.2 bass reflex speaker testingsomething. And I will definitely be keeping an eye on Karl-Heinz Fink moving forward. Will he eventually Wharfedale 12.2 has external dimensions of (Height x Width x Depth) 13.1 x 7.8 x 12.3inch (335.0 x 200.0 x 313.0mm ). Combined with a carefully calibrated, relatively sophisticated crossover, the result is a speaker with a sensitivity of 89dB/W/m and a nominal impedance that’s quoted as being 8ohm compatible.
