About this deal

You can also try using lavender syrup with cold coffee, but the taste will be diluted with the cold temperature. The result will still be delicious lavender syrup, but it won’t be as strong as if you used hot coffee for your drink. 3. Add Lavender Syrup To Decaf Coffee Or Tea No need to settle for boring old sweeteners when you can elevate your drinks and desserts with a touch of lavender magic. Too much lavender can make a dish taste almost soapy or sometimes bitter so be aware of how much lavender you’re using and if you’re going to experiment…start small!

There is something about a rainy, grey day that makes sipping on this lavender latte extra cozy. Bonus points if you can wear leggings and listen to a relaxing playlist. And hey, guess what!?! I have a playlist for you! It has been awhile since I shared a playlist on the blog, right? I have actually been making them every month for the last few months with the intention of sharing them, but so far haven’t gotten that far. I’ve been thinking about doing a monthly recap post where I share some highlights of the month, the top recipes, maybe a few things around the web that I am currently into, and possibly a playlist. Not sure if that is something you all would be into, but I might do it soon and see what you think. In the meantime, please enjoy this playlist with a lavender latte, preferably while wearing leggings. (Scroll to the bottom of this post for the playlist!)

Now that spring has arrived I was inspired to make this Lavender Latte to satisfy that bougie coffee drink craving. Lavender is one of my favorite flavors of the season, and I thought it sounded lovely in a coffee drink. Why you’ll love this lavender latte While the coffee is brewing, make the simple lavender syrup by combining 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water, and 1 tablespoon of dried lavender. Combine these ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Wash your hands: Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before handling any of the ingredients or equipment. Basically, you can add this syrup to a variety of beverages. Truly, the lavender provides such delicate flavor that it shines when mixed with different ingredients and it has the right amount of sweetness.

Dried lavender is much more potent than fresh lavender (similar to any dried vs. fresh herb), so if you are substituting fresh for dried, you’ll need to double the amount. Vice-versa, if you’re substituting dry for fresh, you will want to halve the amount of lavender. Vanilla Lavender Simple Syrup - Add a vanilla bean pod or a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the saucepan along with the lavender for a sweet and aromatic flavor.

Pin it for later!

For an iced lavender latte, you’ll want to use a milk frother rather than a steam wand because, no surprise, you can’t make cold steam. If you don’t have a milk frother, a viable alternative is to just put your cold milk into a jar with a lid and shake it vigorously. You definitely won’t be pouring latte art, but you will get aerated frothy milk that tastes great and adds texture to your iced lavender latte. To add the aroma and flavor of lavender, you just add 1 tablespoon of dried lavender. If you have fresh lavender available, use 2 tbsp. I don’t know why, but culinary lavender is not for everyone. I suppose some people don’t care for the sweet floral perfume of lavender while others (like me!) can’t get enough of this heavenly treat. This lavender syrup recipe is sure to be the uniting thread that brings both camps to an agreement. It’s delicious! Even the naysayers agree. For this recipe, you will need water, and raw sugar works best. We recommend using distilled or purified water to enhance the taste. If you are using bottled water, make sure there are no additives such as electrolytes. Additives can ruin the vibrant taste of lavender. lavender simple syrup ingredients for coffee
