About this deal

While the acting skills of the four main actors may not always reach the highest level, their charm and likability compensate for any shortcomings. The addition of four new female characters brings a breath of fresh air to the film, as each actress is well-cast and complements her male counterpart admirably. Neil: And if they don't kill you, you kill yourself over the shame of getting a boner while being bummed. Personally, I loved this movie and think it is one of the better TV- Big screen adaptations that's been made in recent memory. This film is the Inbetweeners cast doing what they do best, but on holiday and it works brilliantly. They are all such well developed characters that they can't fail to hit the spot with the practices behaviours, regular jokes and old faithful situations that they get in to, situated in a fresh new location.

Big Beautiful Woman: Zigzagged with Jane. Jay initially sees her as an Abhorrent Admirer, but apparently more because he's worried about what his friends would think. He comes around in the end. The type of people who like this movie will be fans of the TV show and those who enjoy cringe comedy. This is a teen comedy film which follows on from the British sitcom The Inbetweeners. The four main characters from the sitcom go on holiday together to Malia, a seaside resort on the Greek island of Crete. Will's dad. Who is revealed to have left Will and his mother to marry a woman barely older than Will. He insults Will, his hobbies and casually admits he didn't invite him to the private wedding, containing a mere 'couple of hundred' close family and friends. Narrated by Bird's character Will, the boys' holiday is marked with drugs, booze and sex, or so they had hoped. Things go wrong in the most hilarious ways and each of them ends up in different unthinkable consequences. Watch out for a scene where the four boys attempt to steal the sun tan chairs at a hotel pool – you don't know whether to sympathize or laugh at them when things go awry. Also to "Xmas Party", as Fernando came from Privilege in Ibiza, where Samantha had claimed to be DJing.

And, even if you haven't seen the TV series, this is pretty good fun. I guess its target audience is mainly young men who have lived through those precarious teenage years of uncertainty, drinking and (attempted) womanising. Women seem to enjoy it too - mainly because the four male stars continue to make a fool of themselves. In fact, I don't know any person under 35 who doesn't like it. The only people I've met who don't 'get it' are my mum and a friend's mum. There's a reason it's one of the highest-grossing British comedies of all time and that's because it's pretty damn funny! Another in-film example: After Simon has all of his clothes taken from him, he spends the remainder of the movie wearing outfits that Neil and Will wore in previous scenes. Crappy Holidays: It seems this trope will be played straight due to the typical misfortunes that befall the main characters, but it's ultimately subverted. Will mentions how the standard of policing in Greece probably goes beyond "bumming and forced suicide". After the skinny-dipping scene, Will, fed up with how the holiday is going, considers suicide in the pool. Neil arrives and Will decides not to. At the start of the movie, just after Carli dumps Simon, Simon whistles and walks home happily. Once he lies down on his bed, he bursts out crying. If you are like me and you love the inbetweeners television show, then the movie will have been much anticipated. I am pleased to report that the movie is not a disappointment. Will, Simon, Jay and Neil are all together as the group head out to Malia for a lads holiday after leaving school. It is meant to be the holiday of a life time, but in classic inbetweeners style not everything goes to plan. Good-Times Montage: After Simon and Jay make up, we get a rare montage of the four actually having a fun time dancing and drinking with each other. Perhaps that was because I finally did get more used to the humor and understood more. But, I believe it was how invested I was getting with the depth (and hilarity) displayed in the main stars.

Country Matters: Jay calls Carli a 'cunt' as he and Simon are arguing. This prompts Simon to take a swing at Jay. Blatant Lies: As you'd expect, these mainly come from Jay's mouth. Richard runs him a close second. These characters have made me laugh for the past couple of years on television and I was sad to hear that the third series would be the last. However I was pleasantly surprised when I heard about the movie being made. It would be a final send off to four of the funniest faces on TV. The film (just like the show) gives each character their own problems and triumphs as the film goes on and as we expect, some very embarrassing moments. The film is very funny and has numerous laugh out loud moments, but the great thing is the spirit of the film. It has a good heart and a script that gives the characters we care about fitting conclusions.

Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Neil at the end when he realises Nicole is waiting for him at the airport. He runs off with Lisa, leaving his luggage with his dad and Nicole is left confused. The movie plot positively throbs with potential - horny teens, a chavvy holiday destination, a pot of money from a dead grandparent. What could go wrong? Sadly the characters proved utterly skin-deep, the jokes were sparse and predictable, and the finale an embarrassment with the characters' half-baked romances. Plot Overview: When Simon(Joe Thomas)'s girlfriend dumps him, he and his friends go on a lads holiday to Malia, encountering drugs, alcohol and women along the way. Stag Do Dares T-Shirt. The award winning production aired for three seasons from 2008 to 2010 in Britain, and has been nominated at BAFTA and won accolades at the British Academy Television Awards and the British Comedy Awards. The episodic adventures of a suburban teenager are chronicled in this series as he and his friends make life work at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive. This movie version follows their misadventures as they go on a holiday in Crete after their final year at school together. It is supposed to serve as an ending to the TV series written by creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris.Coming of Age Story: The film is set immediately after the boys finish school and follows them around on their summer holiday. Sensual Slav: Jay's first scene involves a live-chat with one, who flirts with Jay while reminding him to give her his credit card details. For added humour, we see that despite getting paid for her time, the woman hasn't even taken anything off. Freudian Excuse: Both subverted and played straight. In the film, Will says that he wishes he could blame all his personality defects on his parents splitting up, but he can't as it only happened recently. On the other hand, it seems pretty clear that Jay's abusive father is a big factor behind his neuroses. Neil, surprisingly. He spends a large portion of the film getting with all manner of (mostly much older) women on the boy's holiday. Towards the end he reveals that his girlfriend dumped him and he didn't want to dampen the mood. Turns out, he was lying — his girlfriend Nicole is waiting for him at the airport during the closing credits. The Inbetweeners Movie successfully captures the essence of the TV series while avoiding the trap of simply feeling like an extended episode. It retains the show's trademark voiceover and crude humour, which is even taken up a notch in the film.
