It even briefly flirted with an outlet at Westfield Stratford, which closed, but now, hurrah, has reopened. You can find us at Borough Market, several London Farmers Markets, Selfridges, Whole Foods Markets and many ethnic shops across the UK. You can also visit us at our café-shop in Westfield Stratford. And if it’s not only flavour you’re after, there are health benefits associated with having rye in your diet too. Higher in fibre and lower in gluten than wheat, rye can be easier on digestion, keep you full for longer and reduce spikes in blood sugar levels. A good carb indeed.

We’re an award-winning artisan bakery, established in 2005, specialising in rye (‘juoda duona’) and brioche baking. Our roots are in the Baltics, where rye bread is a daily staple, and with over 150 years of combined baking experience we know rye like no other. Jewish bakery Moishe’s has been supplying bread to Nana Fanny’s famous salt beef beigels since 1930 and it was brought to Borough by the same group. The name of the bakery translates to “from the water.”
