So when I started this book I did not realize it was going to be an angsty dark-ish romance but once I got the memo, I loved it! This is one of those books where I wanted to pull the main characters aside and talk some sense into them so, yeah, this one definitely got in my head. I'm excited to now watch the Netflix version! I’m going to star by saying I read this book in Spanish right around it started on Wattpad. And I wanted to read it in English to see if there was any differences. Let me tell you is much better in English. It was a fast read maybe because I already read it but still. Raquel Álvarez is hard working and serious about her future. It’s always just been her and her mom and that’s kept Raquel on the straight and narrow. After all, she’s only got one goal—to become a psychologist. Well, that and to get Ares Hildago to notice her. This story begins as any standard storyline - doe-eyed girl, Raquel, longing for the attention of the handsome, brooding next-door neighbor, Ares. From there, it twists from stalker-like tendencies into fiery yet somewhat awkward situations, but neither seems to mind. Godoy's start on Wattpad with its subsequent commercial explosion represents a kind of growing trend in the international literary sphere. In fact, in 2020 Planet launched an exclusive stamp to print on paper the stories born on said platform.
