As you read this “author” it becomes very apparent that not all of the books are written by the same person. There are inconsistencies and continuity issues. Not to mention all the books seem to follow the same predictable pattern. And editing is a serious problem. It is sooo sweet when David realise something different in Esme. Without Esme realise she little bit teritory to David and David very jealous man lol, but he put boundry and think Esme off limit only partner business.

After Katie falls off her bike, Dan and Louisa finally meet. It is pretty uneventful except that Katie is rushed to the hospital from her bike fall. Katie scolds Dan for not being more friendly to Louisa. Is it wise to simply keep the past relationship between Esme and Elliot in the past or should the new friendships surrounding their inner circle be made aware. I enjoyed reading this. I found that I was eager for the book to end - not because I wasn't enjoying it but because I needed to know how it all ended. A great read that I'd recommend for fans of Jo Platt. Initial Reaction: I was glued to my seat for this one. The more I kept reading, the more I needed to know what was truly going on. I dare say, the author kept me guessing during the majority of the book. Esme is extremely judgemental at time, I will forgive her judging Jasmine as she wasn't a nice person to Esme but I can't forgive her being judgy of Lloyd describing his meat as art when he is a butcher and thinking Douglas must be a murderer because he can produce dark art pieces for gallery based on depression and sadness and not just the usual animals he makes. Like love you want to sell it yet judge him for making it. In addition, she is so judgy of Morgan who has done no offence to her except get botox and date her ex partner when they have been broken up for three years at this point and she doesn't even know they dated.

Every so often I really enjoy reading a Roxie Ray book. If I read too many I get really fed up as: The plots are always the same. He left her, treat her really badly, she had his child etc. Plot mistakes are very common, like in this book, he rushed to sit in the passenger seat, then drove like crazy???? Erm 🫤 She says they were apart for 15 years, he says 18 years!!! The women always forgive their men, as the men always fight against mating for life and are really horrible to the women. If you can get past that lot, it’s well worth reading.

My Review: The Ex Next Door by Jo Platt was a subtle nod to a topsy turvy romance. This Women's Fiction book was so different than I expected. The love story that was really happening didn't become evident until it was right in my face. The male protagonist in this book is Steffen James, a bear shifter who had played professional baseball until a devastating injury finished his career. Although as such he healed within a matter of weeks, all the doctors he had seen immediately after the injury pronounced that he would never recover enough to play again. To protect his shifter identity, he was forced to walk away from his career, but he coached a little league team which included Aiden as one of the players. He and April had dated throughout high school, but he broke it off with her when he left for college, which had broken her heart. Since he coached her nephew’s team, they were bound to run into each other. Alternatively titled ‘The Lakehouse Murders,’ the Lifetime film was seemingly filmed around April and May 2021. Are you wondering where this gripping thriller movie was shot? If yes, you might want to know that it could have been filmed in Ottawa, Ontario. Let’s dive into the specific details! Ottawa, OntarioI was so confused about Esme's crush on David. I did not see it coming and honestly thought that I missed reading a few chapters about their relationship. I don't think there were enough scenes to show that David was even an option for a crush, or to see their dynamic. The first half of the book was really Elliot heavy, and I thought the author wanted that to happen.

and then her sudden realisation one day confused me further. like HOW can you tell me that she’s had feelings all these while? like there was no indication whatsoever except for that they were terrifyingly in tune—which i found it super adorable. Until Elliot - an ex whom she hasn’t seen or spoken to for years - moves in next door, along with his perfect new girlfriend, Morgan. Suddenly, Esme’s past is right on her doorstep, or at least just over the fence.

I wanted to DNF this book from the halfway point, all the way through to the end. I just think so much of it was unhealthy and toxic. I was genuinely hate-reading this story. Esme ends up next door to Elliot and his new girlfriend Morgan, 4 years later, and Esme has started a gallery business with a friend called David and everyone thinks they’re dating. Moreover, in recent years, there has been a lot of demand for true crime movies. The reason for this is reported to be related to a general fascination for knowing what drives criminals. According to a forensic psychologist, Dr. Paul G. Mattiuzzi, “murder is a most fundamental taboo” and a “most fundamental human impulse.” So the urge to know more about it comes naturally to content consumers. As long as cinema exists, this curiosity in humans will always be projected in the form of movies.
