There was something about 'Alone With You in the Ether' that drew me in, tangled me in its abyss, trapped in the world of these two complex characters.i enjoyed reading the slower parts of the book because it really emphasised how one partner in the relationship was fast paced and the other was wanting to move slower and needed more structure but was feeling like he was spiralling, the foreshadowing was cool! There are books that are written in such a beautiful way that it feels like no words can do my thoughts justice on this. Because to me, it felt like unwrapping a beautifully wrapped present only to find an empty box underneath. Aldo’s mother, a lively Dominican girl too young for motherhood and too beautiful to stay long in one place, had never been very present.

I wasn't able to connect at all for the better part of the first two chapters and then they went to the church and to say I ascended during that scene would be an understatement. This was so beautiful, so heart-wrenching, and not to sound corny on main but I feel like a new person after reading this perfection.
