About this deal

It’s quite a pleasant taste. I don’t know if the minty flavour is supposed to spearmint or peppermint, but it’s definitely Eau de Dental Surgery. Pearl Drops has 50 years of research behind it, with the company founded in 1968, and ever since have been focusing on “women across the world”– not sure why this would be just for women, but anyway! They have other products in the line, from toothpaste to other whitening products. Shake the Brush-on Activator Serum (bottle 2) for 3-5 seconds. Apply the Brush-on Activator Serum to the Added Ingredients: This gum & enamel friendly formula also contains Vitamin E and refreshing mint oils.

Pearl Drops Strong and White Overnight Serum is the first beauty serum for teeth and gums that promotes a brighter, whiter smile while you sleep. The clinically proven serum works through the night to lend you a stronger, whiter-looking smile, encouraging outstanding whiteness in three days*. It uses patented Liquid Calcium technology to help strengthen surface enamel by gently restoring damage caused by general wear and tear, and Active Oxygen to help enhance the look of whiteness lost over time. The gum and enamel-friendly formula also contains protective Vitamin E and refreshing Mint Oils. Designed with a precision brush for targeted application. *When used in conjunction with Pearl Drops Lasting Flawless White Toothpolish. The first beauty serum for teeth and gums that works while you sleep, helping to whiten your teeth and nourish gums, protecting them from the negative (normal) effects of time. This product has the potential to whiten teeth rather than simply remove superficial stains like most toothpaste, because of the time it stays on the teeth. The pen is very very easy to use, swipe on teeth and leave for 5 minutes. Then remove with plenty of water. My teeth were actually whiter within that time, I was certainly not expecting that! My boyfriend also wanted to try, and he’s never used teeth whitening products and even for him within the 5 minutes, his teeth were visibly whiter. Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Aqua, Hydrated Silica, Glycerine, Alumina, Sodium Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, I’ve had professional teeth whitening done about 8 years ago, and once a year re-use my teeth whitening trays with some gel as a top-up. I do have some stains on my teeth as a coffee drinker, so was curious to see how these the Pearl Drops Strong & White Overnight Serum and the Spotlight Whitening Teeth Whitening Pen would compare.

The fact that dentists are directly involved puts my mind at ease regarding the product and its safety, of course, Pearl Drops has a long history, so both brands are to be trusted in that respect. Admittedly, it does create a ‘film’ over your lips but actually, it doesn’t last, when you wake up in the morning your teeth feel smooth. Although, hopefully this is because the product has ‘settled in’ and not been washed away! Though I didn’t have a strip product from Pearl Drops, I wanted to include the review for this anyway, to give you a better understanding of the kit and the brand’s offering. My own dentist advised me to rinse my mouth out with plain water (i.e. not mouthwash) after consuming acidic food or drink. Brushing more than twice a day will wear away at the enamel. When people eat, drink, or smoke, a layer of film develops on the tooth. This film can remain despite brushing with whitening toothpaste and regular visits to the dentist and it can eat away at the enamel. The enamel is what makes the tooth white so when the enamel thins, the dentine (yellowish bone-like material) starts showing through.”I used the Pearl Drops 3 nights in a row and went from about a 10/11 to an 8/9. As both products have their own scales, I used the separate own colour scales to compare. The Spotlight pen contains Hydrogen Carbonate Calcium, and the strips contain hydrogen peroxide (0.1%, so won’t cause sensitivity), which is the ingredient used by dentists in teeth whitening. When they launched the strips, they were the first brand to use this ingredient for at-home teeth whitening.

There’s no question that very yellow teeth are ageing. Teeth naturally darken as we get older. and it seems that whitening them is the only solution. Dentists roll their eyes when you mention home whitening kits and lecture you about the dangers of bleaching teeth yourself, or going to a beautician to have them whitened – they cite possible sensitivity issues, gum damage and enamel erosion. Bear in mind we’re talking about the Daily Mail here and a lot of their editorials are thinly disguised sponsored ads. Dr. Guyver more or less rubbished all the other whitening toothpaste treatments, but was fairly positive (and realistic) about Beauty Sleep. I love a bit of tooth whitening – usually I use trays and specialist whitening gel that I get from my dentist (lovely Uchenna at London Smiling HERE). There’s a dramatic difference over three nights and I’d say that my tooth whitening treatment is one of my favourite ever procedures to have done. I assumed, as I glooped on this Pearl Drops serum (there’s no tray so it basically just sits in your mouth on your teeth) on, that it would be a very poor result against professional whitening gels. Whitening toothpastes are popular, although I’m never entirely sure they work as I don’t use them consistently, I think we all tend to grab whatever toothpaste is close to hand. Spotlight has more variation for a wider set of consumers. You can get the pen or the strips or just the toothpaste and mouth wash depending on your needs, which I really appreciate from a shopping point of view. It is more expensive but I saw instant results, which is what I would personally use a product like that for – once in a while before an event or a special occasion. or individuals with gum disease, gingivitis, bleeding or severely receding gums, tooth sensitivity, pregnant or
