My first hedge trimmer was the longest and most powerful model I could find. In retrospect, this was a mistake. I now see that convenience and manoeuvrability are much more important. The Bosch 50-20 gives me these advantages: Firstly, it is cordless so I don't need to worry about accidentally cutting the cable or having to find a 20 metre extension cord, and secondly it is much lighter and more easy to handle over long periods of use. The construction and build quality are good and the battery provides more than enough power to cut through the type of woody hedge in my garden. By the way, it is important to buy the kit version which includes a battery and charger UNLESS you already have a compatible 18V battery/charger for other Bosch tools. I recommend choosing the Bosch appears to have kept in mind that not all hedges are the same, and indeed, not all users are the same. To this end, the cutter includes a multi-position handle that will adjust to suit how you want to cut.
