Until Marceline's loss of her vampire self revived the vampires she absorbed, Marceline appeared to be the last vampire, having killed the rest. This became the case again once she re-vanquished them.
The vampires Marceline faces in the Stakes arc (the vamps) are named after the tarot cards (the Empress, the Moon, the Fool, the Hierophant) except for the Vampire King. But all five of them are also inspired from said cards. Maybe it was obvious, yet I was mind-blowned when I realized. Following the aftermath of the Mushroom War, there was a large surge of vampires that began stalking the remaining humans in Ooo. A young half-demon named Marceline took it upon herself to protect the last of the human race and inevitably hunted the vampire race into near-extinction, doing so with relative ease. She soon discovered that, upon killing a vampire, she was able to acquire their unique abilities by using her demonic powers to absorb souls. [2] However, when she tried to fight the Vampire King himself, she was bitten. Although she eventually managed to slay him, she was turned in the process, becoming the Vampire Queen. [3] Present Day [ ] The graphic novel " Adventure Time: 2015 Spoooktacular" and the book " Marcy's Super Secret Scrapbook" are related to the events of the Stakes miniseries. In " Heat Signature", Marceline indicated that she can turn humans and perhaps even dogs, but it cannot be confirmed whether she was being sincere. However, Marceline is the only vampire who has been shown willing to live this way.

The special has several connections to tarot cards. Members of the vampire court, The Fool, The Empress, The Hierophant and The Moon, all have titles which match the names of cards from the Major Arcana and each has some form of their personality that matches the meaning of their respective cards. Furthermore, the Vampire King refers to The Wheel of Fortune and The Chariot, both of which are also trump cards in the Tarot, and he himself is based on the Wheel of Fortune card, which depicts the creatures that make up his design - a man, a lion, an eagle, a snake - and he has a cow as a companion, the last creature shown on the Wheel of Fortune card.Unique Game Rules:Tarot card games often have unique game rules and gameplay.
