About this deal

My inner nosey hooker perked up at all the clues they were dropping. Anger management classes? “What happened?” I asked in a conspiratorial whisper. Anyway, it was as good as I remembered. I’ve noticed things that escaped me before - or rather, I didn’t appreciate as much before. I was saying a million Hell Yes’es in my head while Iris was giving Dex some lessons in human interaction 101 lol. It was still great value for money. I don't mind reading an epic book like that. My critique would be that it was either paired down of some details that weren't answered, or longer to include the answers. Thus the 4 star rating.

Dex and Iris make a guest appearance in Kulti which made me select this as my next read as I really wanted to know more about them.Dang MZ also accentuated Dex's Texan accent 🥺 Y'all I got so despo that I had to Google how Texan accent sounds like 😭 There just seemed a little too much going on at some points. It had a lot of cliffhangers. I didn't like that.

On top of the tension she feels working with a grumpy HOT asf man, her no-good father’s debt is biting Iris and Son in the rear. Iris has survived a lot- her cancer battle, the fatal cancer battle of her mom, the death of her grandma and the abandonment of her father, and NOW she has to deal with the pressure of finding her father so he can settle his debts, before they continue threatening her and her brother. Now, I wasn’t expecting anything amazing and really, I didn’t need anything great from a job. I'd been perfectly happy answering phones all day and scheduling other people's dream vacations at the cruise line. It was slow but whatever. A very long time ago, I'd told myself that I wouldn't complain about inconsequential things and I wasn't planning on starting now. Iris knows nothing about Motorcycle clubs until she goes to stay with her half brother (Sonny) who is a member of the Widowmakers club, WMC. Kulti is about soccer and follows Sal Casillas, a soccer player. Since she was a kid, she has been obsessed with a soccer player named Reiner Kulti. She loved watching him play and got the biggest crush on him. He was part of why she was so confident in becoming a soccer player. Years later, Sal becomes a professional player, and Kulti becomes her coach. So what do you do when the guy you worshiped as a kid becomes your coach? What do you do when he’s not at all that you expect when he’s the rudest, grumpiest?Cajones, Iris," yia-yia would have said in terrible Greek-accented Spanish. So I pushed open that shiny heavy door, ready for whatever was waiting for me on the other side. By this time I was missing Aiden and Van and Kulti and Sal were still on my mind but I needed to move on.... She also injects humor into her stories, which can help lighten the suspenseful atmosphere that her books create. Slowly they're brought together when rival gangs come looking for the money that Iris and Sonny's father owed them, making the siblings collateral damage. It follows Luna, who paints and like revamps cars. She works with cars and has a boss named Lucas Ripley, who one day tells a lie for Luna. You get to see a lot more, but I want to ensure everything is good for you. Luna is one of the sweetest main characters I’ve ever seen. Lucas Ripley is very grumpy. You get to see a lot of groveling in this book. If you are a fan of groveling, you will love it. 10. The Best Thing

This story was soooo good. This is my second Mariana Zapata book and this is even better than the first one. Iris is so cute, endearing and her internal rants are just hilarious. Passers by probably thought I was a lunatic for laughing out load whilst walking my dog listening to the audio book. The narration was great, but we only get Iris pov. Even so listing to it whilst reading made a good story even better. Well.... In case you were wondering, I got my money's worth on this book!!! It was long, not too long, loved the characters.

Publication Order of Standalone Novels

The book has its funny moments (Iris discovers the penis piercings), its painful moments (deaths, illnesses), its angst moments (Iris and Dex look for her douchebag father). I adore Iris and Dex; I'm such a softie when it comes to a grumpy alpha male who falls hard and fast. Iris is such a strong character too, so she can put Dex in his place, with his grumpy self. It's been so long since I've read a book that only has one POV that I've forgotten how much I dislike it; that's not to say I didn't like this book because I did, I loved it, I'm just not a big fan of singular POV. Then again, I always wanted to cry. I cried when I was happy, sad, excited and frustrated with life. And I hated it. Especially now." I glanced down at my cheap, electric blue watch to see it was four in the afternoon on the dot. "Oh. I thought I was supp

Iris Taylor has had a hard life. She has had to move across country and move in with her half brother who is part of the MC club their father used to be part of. Sonny gets her a job with a fellow Widow MC member at his tattoo shop. I'd barely been sitting there a minute, an entire, lonely, miniscule minute in a bar that had been so heavily smoked in over the years that the scent seeped from the wood like sweat on a professional athlete. A bar that was owned by a group of people that my parents hadn't wanted to raise me around. A total of sixty seconds before the noisy crowd burst into loud jeers right by the door. Her novels such as Never Never: A twisty, angsty romance tell emotional, angst-filled tales full of complex love triangles, iffy on-again off-again relationships, questionable choices, forbidden romance, and suspense-driven storylines. The first book, Lingus, has an exciting plot. I have never seen another book. We follow a girl, Kat Berger, who goes to an adult convention because she loves it. She meets a guy who makes her laugh, feels very comfortable, and instantly connects with her. So in my head it made sense that my work day had been spent A)ignoring Dex, B)avoiding Dex, and C)getting to know my coworkers slowly."
