About this deal

The Greenworks G40TL Cordless tiller is an excellent choice if you already have other Greenworks tools as you will likely already have the batteries need to get this tool going. When people ask, I always recommend people switch to cordless models as they offer so much freedom and you save money long term not having to buy batteries. Don’t forget, if you don’t have other tools, you will need to buy the 40v battery (ideally 4Ah, I wouldn’t go smaller, it’s not worth it) and the charger separately. This will save you money in the future if you slowly invest in other Greenworks cordless garden tools and they do some other good cordless tools too, including their cordless mowers. The Einhell GE-CR 30 cordless tiller runs on 2 powerful 18v batteries, but what is most impressive is that these batteries come from the Power X-change family. If you already have some of these batteries and use them with other tools in the range, then this is hugely convenient. It is powered by 18v rechargeable batteries that come from the Power X-change family, meaning that they can be used across the Einhell range which is fantastically convenient. For plenty of power the hoe uses two high-performance 18 V system batteries from the Power X-Change series. This product comes without batteries and without a charger. These are available separately. Yes, they are, they’re the sort of thing you wish you had invested in earlier. Regular cultivators are large and heavy not to mention expensive, which makes them unsuitable for domestic use. Mini cultivators are perfect because they are lightweight and designed to manoeuvre in small spaces. They are also cheaper and less noisy. What is the recommended way to use a mini cultivator?

The Power X-change battery range comes in a variety of forms ranging from 2.5Ah, which gives you 21 mins of operating time through to 6.0Ah with an exceptional 60 minutes of power. Some models now have adjustable working, where one set of blades can be removed just leaving one on the machine. This can give you the best of both worlds. How compact are they for easy storage? If you need a tiller that is portable and can be used anywhere, then this is a model that is seriously worth considering. The battery-power makes it ideal for taking to the allotment, where there may not be a power source, but also perfect for use in the far reaches of a medium-sized garden. As a member of the completely flexible Power X-Change family, all the batteries and chargers from the high-performance lithium-ion series of systems can be used for the hoe. Every system device can be combined with every PXC rechargeable battery. Something else I like about this model is that it features an adjustable working width of 25 to 45cm tilling width, this is adequate to cover small to larger-sized gardens and makes it more versatile too.

The Honda FG205 18″ Petrol Mini Tiller is suitable if you are dealing with heavy soil thanks to its reliable engine and durable tines. It is also ideal for those who only buy the very best garden tools and this model certainly qualifies for this. No mini tiller can even come close in terms of performance, however, not everybody wants the hassle of dealing with petrol engines or wishes to budget as much for this kind of machine. One of the most notable practical features of this Einhell GE-CR 30 tiller are the adjustable wheels and the soft grip handle, which combine together to make nothing short of one of the most comfortable user experiences on the market. The Einhell GE-CR 30 is a 18 volt cordless battery tiller that has a 300mm working width and is compatible with the Einhell Power X-Change range of batteries. This tiller/rotavator will work to depth of 200mm, weighs 8.2kg and has foldable handles to reduce the amount of storage required. Electric tillers are used in small to medium-sized gardens to break down hard ground and compact soil. They get the earth nicely loosen up so that it's ready for planting. The tines on an electric tiller work at a rapid rate and get deep into the ground, so it'll save you from hours of manual labour with a garden fork.

Another feature I do like is that it does not matter how tall you are because this tiller has a telescopic handle that makes it more comfortable to use. The handle is adjustable from 97cm all the way to 127cm, which gives the user plenty of room to find a comfortable position. Additionally, with the two handles installed, it will be easy to balance the weight of the tiller and move it around. It is also ideal for anyone who already makes use of the Einhell range of 18V power tools, thanks to the Power X-change batteries that work with this model. Electric models are usually smaller and are ideal for working in smaller gardens. They are also more lightweight, easier to store, and often more affordable. Petrol tillers are more powerful and suitable for bigger spaces or challenging soil types. One thing to note is that they are on the pricier side and take up a fair amount of space. If you want to buy a petrol tiller, we would recommend the T-Mech 52cc Garden Tiller. What to read next:

In terms of how easy it is to store, this tiller has a foldable handle to make it even more compact. Finally, this model comes with a 3-year warranty guaranteeing the reliability of the product, but it is worth noting that any batteries you buy only come with a 2-year warranty. Pros To give you a visual representation of the Einhell GE-CR 30 cordless tiller, please see the video below. The VonHaus Electric 1050W Tiller was designed with mobility and efficiency at the forefront as it features a lightweight body and a powerful motor at 1050w. This is one of the most powerful motors for a tiller of its size. At only 2.7kg, it’s light and powered by a 20V 4Ah battery which should give around half an hour or running time depending on how hard it is working. Its two 15cm blades can cultivate up to 25cm deep too which isn’t bad for such a smaller tiller.Ergonomic handles are essential for overall comfort while working with mini cultivators. Good handles provide good grip, and in most cases, are padded for comfort. Some models do not have texturized handles, but they have small tubular handles that are easy to manage. This is a very powerful tiller and will give an effortless performance, but let’s just keep in mind that battery power is never going to be as superior as that of a petrol tiller.
