About this deal

In terms of size, the George isn’t perhaps the most practical vacuum cleaner on the market. If you live in a tiny house with tiny cupboards, then storage might be an issue. It’s a little on the bulky side at 11kgs. If you are in poor health carrying it up and down stairs might be a no.

We gave the George a 10 out of 10 for car cleaning. It’s even able to get the pet hair out of the foot mats and that’s a first. George vs Carpets

Specifications

Henry have a vacuum cleaner for everyone! You need the Henry Micro. This nifty little number uses a MicroTex Filtration System to ensure that even the smallest particles are whipped out of the fibres of your flooring. I want a Henry vacuum that does everything… is there one? If you want an upright carpet cleaner for a similar price, that you can also push across dirty carpets without needing to scrub, then the Bissell HydroWave is a good option. This doesn’t also operate as a vacuum cleaner, but has a number of useful storage features including a retractable handle and a handy drip tray. The rotating brush bars will agitate your carpet for you, but it isn’t designed for hard floors. The Henry vacuum is designed for everyday vacuuming and comes with various tools. He is well known for his reliability and is almost bomb-proof. The classic 'all in one' machine - perfect for wet vacuuming, dry vacuuming, floor scrubbing & carpet cleaning

While the traditional Henry has an A class energy efficiency rating, other models don’t match it. The worst is actually the Harry, which has a C class energy efficiency rating. It is important because a higher consumption vacuum cleaner will use more, costing you more in power. They aren’t as environmentally friendly either, so if being E-friendly is important to you the basic Henry is the better model. Size & Shape However, when it comes to wet cleaning, George comes into its own. It still doesn’t have the carpet agitation you’ll find on carpet cleaners from Vax and Bissell, but in our tests the George proved itself to be something of a wet-cleaning hero. When it comes to dry vacuuming you have big filters, use of Hepaflo dust bags, and you have a superb combination floor nozzle. In the wet mode, a simple exchange of the dry filter for the safety float valve allows any number of wet tasks to be achieved. However, there are caveats to this general recommendation. The first is that it’s a bit of a faff to convert the George between vacuum and carpet cleaner. The second is that, while it offers powerful suction, it’s not the most luxurious vacuum cleaner in terms of ease of use. The wet cleaning tools require some additional effort to use, but they performed brilliantly during testing. Once the vacuum body is ready, you can then attach the shampooing hose, which has a different design to the regular vacuuming hose. This is actually a combination of two hoses, one for suction and one for applying the solution, so you’ll need to attach these separately to both the vacuum and whichever tool you use.For wet vacuuming there is the fishtail extraction nozzle which is designed to be used on carpet. This tool is great for shampooing and scrubbing dirt out of carpets and does a great job at removing tough stains. Alas, there is no choice. All of the Henry vacuum cleaners in the range are floor vacuums. That just means that they don’t stand upright, and that they roll around on the floor on wheels. You drag the vacuum along behind you while you use the hose. The Henry vacuum cleaner range covers a number of price points. The more expensive models, like the George, do more things than the models that don’t cost as much. Adversely, the cheapest Henry Vacuum is likely to be the original version. You would think that you paid less for less dustbin capacity (like what you get with the James, where you sacrifice dustbin space for storage) but this isn’t the case. What is a Class Rating? That being said, the George isn’t bad at cleaning up messes of all sorts. One of the things it has that the Harry doesn’t have is the ability to remove said pet hair from furniture as well as carpets. So you might lose a little in regards carpet-to-pet-hair-removal, but you gain it in furniture-to-pet-hair-removal.

Next (and while we are on the subject of allergies) let’s talk dogs and cats. If you have a hairy pet can George keep up? His big green grin seems confident. George vs Dog and Cat Hair Commissioned by John Lewis as a special anniversary edition. These are quite rare and just another example of Henry. Yes, certain models are able to clean things like your drains, standing water, or any spillages in the kitchen or bathroom. The Charles and the George are both made to be wet and dry vacuum cleaners. While the George also cleans carpets and upholstery, the Charles is able to sook up spillage without exploding. I have allergies. Do Henry have a vacuum cleaner I can use? We gave the George a 10 out of 10 for carpets. You can’t just vacuum them, you can shampoo them, clean up stains, and use it on the furniture, too… which brings us to our next point. George vs Furniture If you’ve ever pondered over the virtues of buying your own carpet cleaner, then George should be near the top of the list, particularly if you’re looking for an all-in-one that can vacuum too. Upright carpet cleaners tend to be enormous and need a lot of space to store, and while George doesn’t solve that particular problem, both in terms of its size and the number of tubes and accessories you need to keep along with it, there is that benefit of not having to store two devices. We are not sure that there is anyone who wouldn’t be glad to have this tough, durable cleaner in their cupboard. That being said, there are those who will get the maximum use from it. People that live an outdoor, active lifestyle are likely to use the George vacuum cleaner five days a week to clean dirt out of their cars. Likewise, people with pets seem to love it for cleaning up little accidents…

Henry is the stalwart of this range: tough, durable and easy to use. There may be lighter and sleeker models available, but it is by no means too cumbersome and its impressive storage capacity, means you’ll have plenty of time before you need to change the bags. Charles is the same size as Edward for dry use and uses the same filter and bags. When using as a wet vacuum simply change the filter and remove the bag. George is a just one of the best wet and dry vacuums on the market. He is capable of all the tasks that Charles can handle... and much much more. George is comfortably the most powerful vacuum cleaner from Numatic’s Henry Hoover range, and with great power comes great suction. George is more powerful than the rest of the Henry family because he needs the extra power when being used in wet cleaning mode, to allow him to clean effectively.George has a 9 litre dust bin however he has different capacities for wet and dry dirt. For dry dirt only his capacity shoots up to 15 litres. The Edward vacuum is just like Henry but he has a much bigger capacity. He is for dry use only and is a great upgrade if you own a business. All the Henry tools remain the same on Edward. He does however require the bigger Numatic NWM-2BH bags Charles also comes with a wet floor tool. This is ideal for cleaning up spillages on hard floors, or indeed drying them out. I have seen these being used in work places such as car garages. Cleaning up wet slippy floors to avoid hazards. Setting up the vacuum for hard floor cleaning is similar to shampooing, although you’ll need to attach the hard floor tool. Once attached, you can use the trigger to spray the solution over the hard floor, then agitate it with the hard floor brush.
