About this deal

Though small, the Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L is a tough little bag. Its outer layer is double poly-coated 400D nylon, a lightweight and durable material that protects against abrasion and rips. The material’s water resistance is reinforced via DWR (Durable Water Repellent) to provide a hydrophobic waterproof shell. All outer material is 100 per cent recycled, which is great news for sustainability. The hardware carried by the Everyday Sling is robust, as are the Peak Design UltraZips. These zips are also weather-resistant, as to not undermine the waterproofing of the material. You’ll easily be able to fit a mirrorless camera and 1-2 lenses, spare batteries, filters, and a variety of other smaller accessories in the Peak Design 5L Sling, despite it being only 5 litres in overall capacity. Today, we’re going to take a look at the Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L (V2). We’ve already reviewed the three liter size. Basically, the 6L version is the same as the 3L version only, you know, larger by three liters. Plus, the 6L version has a tablet sleeve.

Besides these dividers, there is a zipped compartment on the inside where you can easily store batteries, SD cards, or other small items. A sleeve, which closes easily using a little magnet, provides space for a tablet, a notebook, or something similarly shaped. It's better in several ways too, no metal, the leather pad is a better shoulder cushion, and the slider mechanism is more akin to the pricey Artisan & Artist straps than Peak's... It can be slid along most of the strap so there's only one, Peak's dual sliders are more cumbersome and unless you adjust both you throw the padding off center. I can fit my Sony A7iii with my Samyang 35mm f/1.4 lens , spare batteries, and an assortment of other little things I may need during that day. Since every videographer and photographer has different needs, it makes sense that Peak Design—a company that’s all about making premium gear specifically for videographers and photographers—offers three sizes of the Everyday Sling (V2): 3L, 6L, and 10L. If I didn't switch it around often for a wrist strap or hadn't bought it first tho, I'd totally be using the Slim Strap. Peak Design supply you with two of their unique “FlexFold” dividers to position however you desire and create the arrangement you need.

The Peak Design Everyday Sling 5L feels nicely balanced on my shoulder and its rigidity gives me a lot of confidence in opening it without spilling all of my gear on to the ground while walking. One thing that felt a bit missing to me was a bottle holder. To be fair, I’m not sure how Peak Design could have added one without compromising the aesthetics too much. Nevertheless, it doesn’t take away the fact that it doesn’t have a bottle holder, and I sometimes wish it had one. (Or some other area separated from my electronics gear.) For a small kit such as this, the three-litre capacity of the Everyday Sling is perfect. All in, the Sling and camera kit weighs only 1.5kg. There’s enough space to carry everything neatly, while the optional external storage straps allow for the occasional outing with a raincoat or tripod. If, for example, I’m just headed out running errands or venturing out with my wife and friends, I like to carry the Everyday Sling and nothing else.

Actually, Custom SLR came out with a design that's directly equivalent to Peak's just last month, it's called the Slim Strap...
