Motion handling is also good, given the inherent limitations of LCD as a display technology and the panel’s 60Hz refresh rate. As a result, there’s some blurring on fast motion like sport, but the RC630K handles 24p content without introducing judder, allowing movies to retain a film-like quality. The storage temperature shows the range from a minimum to a maximum temperature, within which storing of the display is considered to be safe.

The TCL RC630K sports an Onkyo sound system based around a pair of downward-firing full-range speakers, each of which has 10W of built-in amplification. The TCL 55C635K has a built-in soundbar that produces high-quality sound. The soundbar has a total output power of 30W and uses Dolby Atmos technology to create a more immersive audio experience. The television also has a variety of sound modes, including movie mode, music mode, and sports mode, which allows users to customize the sound to their liking.

Navigating the interface, or the fairly brief set-up menus, is a job for the comprehensive, logical and unremarkable-feeling remote control handset. Or you may prefer to use voice control – but here, again, is where things differ based on your location. UK viewers are prompted to add the TCL skill to your Alexa app (there’s ‘Works with’ Google interaction too), the Google TV model has Google Assistant built in, naturally. Picture Quality The storage humidity shows the lower and upper humidity limit, which ensures safe storage of the display. Storing it outside these limits might damage the display. It drops things down to 60Hz with de-judder and Motion Clarity Pro, with the older IPQ processor using Machine Learning with SR rather than the Deep Learning capacity of those before it. All at a price that will have more established rivals quaking in their boots. TCL might not quite carry the same household name as the likes of Samsung, LG, Panasonic, or Sony in western markets, but the Chinese company remains the number two TV manufacturer in the world when it comes to market share – and is continuing to expand into Europe and the US as it aspires to that number one spot. This year’s line-up looks to build nicely upon what’s gone before it, offering a wealth of potentially good-looking upgrades across the board. Because there’s still a dearth of 4K/HDR content out there the 6-Series still relies really heavily on its AiPQ Engine to transform HD to 4K content. It does this using three algorithms – one for color, one for clarity and one for contrast – and the results, so far, do seem better than last year. The RC630K’s price point is betrayed by a build dominated by plastic, but the inclusion of an Onkyo audio system means the TV sounds better than you’d expect given its dimensions, plus there’s support for Dolby Atmos. The ability to work with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit rounds out what is a very capable smart device overall and one of the best cheap TVs currently available. Similar to the CPU, the GPU may have more than one core, which serve for the parallel computing of various tasks and achieving better performance with various software applications.The 55C735K has much more going on beyond these promising basics, though. For starters, despite its eye-openingly low price, it uses Quantum Dots to create its colours – an approach that should deliver a noticeably wider colour range than the traditional colour filter system. TCL is a well-known brand in the world of televisions, and the TCL 55C635K is one of its latest offerings. This television boasts a 55-inch QLED screen with 4K Ultra HD resolution and smart TV functionality. In this review, we will take a closer look at this television’s technology, features, design, picture quality, and sound quality. Technology One that won’t be made familiar to everyone, the RC630K is a UK-exclusive QLED running Roku TV that is likely to be available from September (or shortly thereafter). It has many of the same features as the C635, including HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, along with the Onkyo sound system, albeit using Dolby Audio rather than Atmos, but there are a few other notable differences. Likely to echo much of the P635 features, the RP630K is set to be a UK-exclusive TV that is currently expected some time later in the year. As with the RC630K, it will be a Roku TV including FreeView Play and all the usual suspects at your disposal (subscriptions pending of course). You’ll still be able to access the likes of Google Home and chat with Alexa if you wish, but Google Photos won’t be an option in Ambient mode.
