About this deal

I have been intending to start this series for such a long time and finally I did and boy what a start it was. And I’m so glad I did because I’m about to marathon the shit out of the 40+ books that are in this series. But Roarke intends to be there when Eve finally stops combatting their attraction and realizes the only place she’s going is back into his arms. I'm notoriously anti-audiobook (b/c ADD), but I started listening to NAKED IN DEATH while roadtripping, and it easily held my attention b/c just that good.

ALSO, if you're into audiobooks, definitely, definitely worth a try, especially if you can pick them up from your library, and I'd imagine most would have them considering how popular and long-running this series is. Charlotte Mira, Eve develops a psychological profile of the killer: someone who thinks poorly of women and gets pleasure from the sexual power of using them and killing them after. Here we are, wet, naked, both of us half dead from a very memorable night, and still you watch me with very cool, very suspicious eyes. I really liked how the plot played out, the suspense, the romance as far as h goes I don’t have a favorite kind as long as she goes well with story I really don’t care much. It's romance/mystery, so if you like a splash of sex with your serial killers, this is the series for you!I've been nervous about starting this mega series of 39 books but I'm glad I finally bit the bullet. While I didn't want an "info dump", I do wish the author hadn’t just dropped names like that, as it took me out of the story, at times.

It's still a great crime/mystery/suspense read and Eve and Roarke will forever remain one of the absolute best romantic pairings there is. That must suit a vast number of readers based on reviews and rankings, but I don't want to read the same book more than once. I've known about this series for quite a while, and I'm a big Nora Roberts fan, but I hadn't really wanted to pick this series up. Nothing tricky, nothing fancy, just certain policies, technologies, attitudes that, left to move forward without careful thought now, will come to fruition – for good or ill – sixty years from yesterday. As much as I'd have wanted to ignore the ridiculous amount of clues pointing to the truth, I'd have hurt my eyes squinting to avoid seeing them.Eve finds herself not only up against the power of politics and old money but also her own Chief Commissioner.

When the licensed companion daughter of a prominent wealthy senator is found shot to death, Lieutenant Eve Dallas of the NY police is put in charge of the investigation and told to keep it hushed up as much as possible. Naked in Death had all the mystery, suspense, crime and intrigue that you would want with twist and turns that kept me turning the pages rather quickly. C., and arrests the senator on the Senate floor for all three murders just as he is publicly speaking in favor of a "Morality Bill" that will again outlaw prostitution and legalize firearms.I thought it was handled well by the author, but I still feel helplessly enraged to know stuff like that happens constantly.

Naked in Death was first released around 20 years when some of the gadgets Eve uses in her fight against crime would have seemed more Sci-fi than anything else but now with advances in technology now seem within reach. The “Glida-Grill” I assume is a futuristic New York hot dog stand that glides from place to place rather than being set up on a particular corner? Apart, they are forces to be reckoned with; together, they generate enough blistering heat to melt my glasses right to my nose. Naked in Death is a fast paced, gripping thriller full of mystery, suspense and crime with no holding back on the gory details and some twists in the tail so nothing is too predictable before it reaches a satisfying conclusion. It was better than I thought, It holds your attention and It was unpredictable to discover who was the murderer.

In the 21 st Century, prostitution is legal, regulated, and, while not exactly something you want your daughter to do for a living, the social stigma is not as great as in the past. The addition of just the right amount of romance adds to the story and the chemistry between Eve and Roarke was tangible. Only her story takes place a little farther into the future (2060), so as to have a little sci fi fun, but not so much that it takes away from Eve Dallas's story. I thought he was controlling, patronizing, stalkerish even, always forcing Eve out of her comfort zone and himself on her (in that signature way - I am going to make you have the most intense orgasm you've ever had, no matter if you want it or not, because I know what you need better than you ).
