About this deal

You can still use those recipes unchanged in the Deluxe but they won’t fill the Deluxe’s 24-ounce pints which defeats one of the Deluxe’s signature benefits. In addition to black, the regular Ninja CREAMi also comes in a variety of colour options, such as red, blue, white, rose gold, and silver, allowing you to match any kitchen style.

Ninja has made four different versions of the popular CREAMi ice cream maker since it was first released on National Ice Cream Day in July 2021. Since they started with the original 7-in-1, it's more like a 7-in-1 minus 1 plus 5 equals an 11-in-1.The best and most reliable way to tell which model is which is by the number of one-touch programs you see on the front panel. However if you only want to eat a half pint, you now have the option to run the TOP program which will process the top half of the pint into ice cream but leave the bottom half frozen solid. As you can tell from our Ninja Creami Recipes, we’re huge fans of the original Ninja Creami for making sugar-free, keto, and high-protein ice creams, which aren’t possible with a traditional ice cream maker.

Be careful, it's hard to tell these models apart, especially if you’re looking at a small picture on an e-commerce site. But, if you already have one it's probably not worth upgrading unless you really need one of the new programs (most of which are for drinkable desserts) or the larger size. One wonders if this change was inspired by the on-air QVC situation where the hosts had issues inserting the bowl, but it’s easy to get the hang of the insertion process on the original once you’ve tried it a few times.Reddit and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to provide you with a better experience. The Ninja CREAMi Deluxe adds a lot of refinement and conveniences to the original but none of them are must-haves. While traditional models freeze cold or room temperature ingredients as they churn, with the bowl having to be frozen beforehand, the Creami flips this process on its head. This ease of use means it’s not only good for beginners but that it’s less likely to end up gathering dust on your counter because it’s too much effort. For most of this review, we’ll be comparing the Deluxe 11-in-1 to the 7-in-1 since the 7-in-1 is the most common model at the time of writing and it’s also the other model of CREAMi we own.

So, the bottom line is if you don't already own a Ninja CREAMi then it's definitely worth spending a little more to get the Ninja CREAMi Deluxe. One helpful convenience is that the Deluxe will tell you how many minutes a program will take before you run it and then count down the number of minutes left as it runs.

There’s also a countdown timer, indicated by four glowing lights and another light to alert you if the bowl or blades aren’t installed correctly. This speeds up the ice cream making process considerably, taking two to three minutes versus 30 minutes on average for traditional ice cream makers. For the Deluxe models, the NC500 and 501 are identical machines, but the NC501 contains more accessories like additional pint containers.

It also looks odcd – more like a filter coffee machine than a traditional ice cream maker – and its blender-like blades mean you can use it to make everything from ice cream and gelato to smoothie bowls and milkshakes. Surprisingly, it also lets you make less ice cream per batch thanks to a new setting that lets you process only the top or bottom half of the pint if you want. Whether you’re doing Christmas in the Bahamas or bundling up in the snowy mountains, everyone will be on board with this frozen eggnog. While many think the popular Ninja CREAMi 7-in-1 was the original CREAMi model, there is a 5-in-1 (NC300) model that is now difficult to find. A less obvious but important incompatibility is that most recipes you’ll find online were written for the original CREAMi’s 16 ounce pints. The Ninja CREAMi Breeze transforms frozen solid bases into ice cream, sorbets, milkshakes, and more at the touch of a button. There’s also no getting away from the fact that you can achieve similar results with a much cheaper, more traditional ice cream maker. For example, the brand of milk or cream you use, the ripeness of the fruit, how long you freeze the ice cream for and how long it’s left out of the fridge before churning can all alter the end product. The blades detach from the lid with relative ease and these, along with all the other detachable parts are dishwasher-safe. Do keep in mind though that the Deluxe version of the Ninja CREAMi is missing the Smoothie Bowl program; otherwise, the Deluxe version contains all the same programs as the 7-in-1 and then some more.
