About this deal

This new generation of handheld transmitters provides a touch of luxury for both commercial and private use. Retractable buttons and a chrome-plated frame increase its value. In addition, the design of the handheld transmitter remains simple and functional, which speaks for simple and clear operation. Learning 51 commands using the broadlink-python library (to make learning the specific frequency faster)

I take these 51 commands, and trigger them in a batch. This seems to work eventually also (sometimes early, sometimes late etc), but again I'm not sure of the reliability. I am trying to dial in the settings for Select Blinds controls (BF-301,305). I believe they use a 433.9MHz radio with the protocol described here: github.com akirjavainen/markisol/blob/9cc13ec5d3d22195338b0c3d53bc853951cf1b29/Markisol.ino /*Anyway, both of the types of remotes we have use the same code, and it is definitely not a rolling code, so a device like the Broadlink RM pro should be able to duplicate the code. Or if you are really keen you could do as I did with a few cheap bits and pieces. I played around with different reps for this command. 4 or above causes the shades to start, then stop, then start and proceed to the preset position. Reliability is very high. Reps below 4 result in the shade sometimes getting to the preset position and sometimes starting and stopping and not making it there. I haven’t figured out exactly what is going on yet. On the otherhand, I'm feeling disheartened that it's just some software protocol that's preventing my blinds from going to the next level with some nice sun/motion based schedules/automations. Unless I'm completely mistaken, each remote has its unique, hard coded ID. I've included all commands from one as an

Discussed with support, they can't sell outside of US/Can/Aus due to RF restrictions (I'm in Ireland)

As already suggested, there might be something on the motors themselves to confirm, but getting one out of the tube might be easier said than done. The particular motors we have do not have batteries in them (run on 12V DC) but I believe Bofu do make ones with batteries.

If anyone has any leads/suggestions, I'd love to hear. Or even any help understanding more about the rolling codes, and why I'm able to get 'used' codes working repeatedly without having paired my broadlink directly. On one hand, pressing a button on a remote is miles ahead of where we were a week ago, considering the total cost of the setup is so cheap. This works occasionally, but I need to trigger the command on repeat hundreds of times. And I'm not sure how reliable it is, or why it eventually works. I called customer service when I first installed them, over a year ago, as the Bond was getting through to them about 1 in 3 times. They told me at the time that they were not supported. I got around this by adjusting the reps to ensure that the commands get through. This is great for up and down, but not so good for the preset command as that is also the stop command.
