About this deal

The device supports video resolutions of 4K@60Hz via the HDMI 2.0 port. You also get three USB-A 2.0 to connect peripheral devices. Additionally, the box also features four USB-C ports—two to connect computer inputs and two for the power source to enable Power Delivery. One USB keyboard, mouse and one DisplayPort monitor control two DisplayPort computers, one USB-C device and share two USB peripherals this will Discover the BrainStem device(s) attached to your system and respond with serial number(s) in the format XXXXXXXX) Also, unlike other KVM switches, this device comes with a wireless remote to switch between inputs.

The IOGEAR KVM switch has an advantage that no other KVM switch offers. This device from IOGEAR comes with “Beyond OS,” their cross-platform file-sharing software. Not only is this software unique, but it is also handy. So, hook up the KVM switch with a Mac and Windows PC and effortlessly transfer data with drag and drop. For me, I just wish the output could be USB C and then allow passive charging as that will eliminate any additional power inputs, and also expand the USB capacity if the connecting monitor, like mine has USB connections on it. Supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode) which enables the USB connection to carry DisplayPort signals The 2 Port USB 3.2 Type C Switch supports USB Power Delivery PD 3.0, which allows charging via a connected USB Type C power supply. The device utilizes the USB-C connectivity for a simplified transmission of 4K video, audio, control signals, and power, and allows data speeds of up to 5 Gbps under the USB 3.1 Gen1 and allowing video resolution capabilities up to 4K@60Hz at 4:4:4.Users who connect their laptop or other mobile devices to the USB C switch can also enjoy charging up to 60w, thus eliminating the need to look for a wall plug and to avoid sudden interruption of meetings. So the good news. This KVM works as advertised. The "bad" news, there were some quirks - but I am still giving a 5 star review because those quirks could have been due to my computer or my specific peripherals. The Sabrent KVM switch supports 4K video at a 60Hz refresh rate via the HDMI 2.0 port. You also get two USB-A 2.0 ports to connect a keyboard and mouse. The device also supports computers with Thunderbolt. And it is also compatible with Windows 10 and macOS 10.10 (and higher).

In conclusion, the US3342 with its compact and all-in-one design is an ideal solution for users that seeks to save desk space and keep the desk well-organized in an efficient manner. The switcher also thrives when it comes to audio capabilities, offering analog audio de-embedding features as well as support for DANTE/AES67 network connection to send DANTE/AES67 audio stream directly to a dedicated audio system. That might seem plenty, and for most users, it will be fine. But if the USB ports are used for connecting external drives and the display is being run through the system, the available bandwidth might not be enough for optimal file transfer speeds. USB-C male-to-male full featured, e-marked cable, (Redriver: 2.67 foot ( C45-USBC-COAX); Passive 1.5 foot ( C39-USBC-C)) The switch is supplied with a USB Type A to DC cable for power which can be attached to a second USB port or to a power supply.Another notable downside was the inability to wake the devices using my USB-connected keyboard or mouse. This meant I had to start each device, which was inconvenient manually. When pressed, the switch also took a moment to respond, though this was not a significant issue. But if you are running a laptop and a phone, and you are keying data into the phone, you may have missed the point of the last twenty years of internet technology, and badly need to reassess your workflow.

Supports USB-C Power Delivery 3.0 for laptop charging up to 85W (Additional USB-C Power Adapter is needed)*Controls for the COMMON connection or “USB Port” are listed on the left side of the USB-C-Switch panel. Power for KAC is provided by the host PC through the Control Port on the USB-C-Switch. When KAC is enabled, you can see the Vbus levels on non-selected channels rise to +5V. As one of the world’s leading suppliers of cables, converters and adapters you’re sure to find everything you need here at Lindy Electronics.

Generally I find things good but do have an issue if my Chromebook sleeps - it seems to reboot. This is with no power supply connected to the hub (i.e. the Chromebook is powering it) and I have yet to experiment to see if a power supply into the hub will stop this happening. As best practice for host switching, Acroname recommends that before you switch mux channels, that you first disable the Common Port so the host sees a “break before make” connection:

And, to use other than mouse and keyboard on this device you will need to get a USB hub to chain devices, as they only need USB 2.0 connections to work.
