It follows the adventures of Emily, a young girl who discovers a sentient and autonomous magical circular amulet in her maternal great-grandfather's house. I enjoyed this series because it was filled with thrilling twists and turns and compelling characters. She watches as Prince Trellis corrects her by simply freeing Karen while using his amulet to tear the Arachnopod in half and carrying her captive for a short time while she shouts at him to release her mother in an attempt to urge Emily to kill his father, the Elf King. It turns out that he was only after the Mother Stone, where all the stonekeeper's' stones are cut out from, and that the Guardian Council has been gone for a long time, with everything having been a powerful illusion. She says Silas was an architect but her mother corrects her, saying that he was a puzzle maker who disappeared one day when he locked himself inside his house.

Leon's father was a guard of the jail where the Elf King was kept imprisoned, and was later killed when the King escaped. On the aircraft they are traveling on, Emily has a dream in which she has a discussion with the Voice, who warns her of something at the end of the Hall of Kings.
