One diagram online shows one carb with what looked like an option for either the manual or the auto-choke assembly. There was no problem fitting it and, after bleeding the fuel through, the engine started straight away. After fiddling with the original carb for hours on end, trying to get it to function properly, I checked on line to see what a new one would cost. I took the carb to my bench grinder and ground about 1/16" off of this swivel mechanism and this allowed it to move freely and not touch or "bind" against the choke control assembly.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.After installation, the mechanism on top of the carb that the linkage connects to that controls the butterfly inside the carb orifice, for whatever reason, just slightly touched the choke control assembly which prevented free movement of it. Edit: forgot to add, if the air filter was really clogged, wait and see if a new filter and new spark plug fixes it. Original carburetor for my Troy Bilt Power Washer with Honda GCV160 did not have adjustment screws and this replacement does, but it fit perfectly and the engine started on the third pull. That was a tight fit, but I was able to make it work and still keep the protective sleeve around the fuel line. As advertised, fit my lawn mower , easy installation for a non-mechanic, works perfectly, first pull.

This was supplied with some kind of preservative inside the carburettor which I drained out fitted it ran fuel through the drain plug refitted plug, turned the fuel on left it for 2 minutes to let carb fill and away it went. Am I correct in assuming any of the auto-choke versions will work on my motor or must I match a specific carb to a specific VIN?
