Restaurant El Diablo in Timanfaya National Park – While food quality isn’t great, the restaurant setting is pretty incredible! I’d recommend stopping here for a coffee and admiring the spectacular lunar landscapes through the glass. Read more about my experience in my El Diablo review. Teguise is the former capital of Lanzarote and is a very charming town. There’s quite a lot to see, with large squares, churches, shops, restaurants and more. Visiting Teguise Market is one of the best things to do in Lanzarote If you’re looking for somewhere great to eat in Haria, I’d suggest lunch at La Puerta Verde. We had an amazing meal of steak and salad, all cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was one of the best meals we ate in Lanzarote! See views of the Valley of a Thousand Palms

This walk is a great way to fully connect with Lanzarote’s volcanic scenery. I mean, have you ever stood INSIDE the crater of a volcano?! Not only did it make me feel tiny, it reminded me of the power of nature! So impressive. Rural Lanzarote offers a chance to escape into a more tranquil life, with beautiful villages both inland and on the coast. There are boutique hotels, as well as apartments and villas to rent. Summary Stay in Gran Canaria’s leafy north, where you’ll find the lively capital, Las Palmas, Spain’s ninth-largest city – and with a standout beach. The lofty, mountainous interior unfolds in a series of dramatically located villages, exhilarating hiking trails, volcanic calderas and distant peaks. Get to grips with the nitty gritty on bank opening times, telephone codes, transfer times and many other items of Essential holiday information.Watching the sky turn a beautiful shade of orange, sipping on a glass of Lanzarote white wine was another highlight of our trip. If you’re looking for another recommendation in El Golfo, I’ve heard Restaurante Bogavante is one of the best places on the island for seafood, in particular their rice dishes with lobster, fish and other sea creatures! Walk around a volcanic crater at Caldera de Los Cuervos

Smaller and more upmarket, Playa Blanca is at the island’s southern tip and is where you’ll find luxury hotels and private villas spread along a stretch of golden sand that sprawls around the bay to a marina, home to sleek restaurants and designer shops.SCUBA divers will love exploring the Museo Atlántico – an underwater sculpture museum designed by Jason deCaires Taylor. There are over 300 life-size casts resting on the seabed close to Playa Blanca. Divers will love Museo Atlántico Lanzarote (Photo courtesy of Museo Atlántico Lanzarote) As you explore the foundation there are videos and pieces of information, so you’ll leave having learned a lot about Lanzarote’s most famous resident. Visit Papagayo Beach for stunning views

The scenery here is breathtaking whilst the village itself is very atmopsheric. A weekly artisan market takes place here every Saturday, there's a small art gallery located in the old aljibe or water deposit in the main square and César Manrique is also buried in the local cemetry, having lived his final years in a house in Haria. Teguise - La Villa Puerto del Carmen 19, 21, 22, 29, 30, 31, 38-9, 41, 107, 110, 111, 112-3, 114-5, 128, 134, 165, 166

Lanzarote’s wine region is unique as it’s been created on volcanic soil. This comes with difficulties as the vines need a water source as well a requiring protection from the wind. To combat these issues, vines are individually planted in deep burrows, and have small walls built around them. Vines in Lanzarote grow in a unique way Stay in northern Fuerteventura to soak up the surf vibe in El Cotillo, Corralejo and Lajares, hike to tiny, beach-side Majanicho, take a day trip to the near-deserted Isla de Lobos (for snorkelling, paddleboarding and more) and get away from it all in the dune-lined Parque Natural de Corralejo. Around 15km south of Corralejo, La Oliva is known for its historical architecture and the Centro de Arte Canario Casa Mané, devoted to Canarian greats. One of the best ways to explore Costa Teguise is to take a stroll along the seafront promenade, which will take you past all of the five main beaches and towards the Las Maretas Palace, originally built for King Hussein of Jordan and now used by visiting dignitaries such as the King of Spain and former Prime Minister Zapatero, who is a regular visitor to the island. Costa Teguise Weather Arrecife is home to around one third of the island’s inhabitants, with a population of some 45,000 and boasts shopping galore, beaches, parks, promenades, nightlife and all of the attendant urban hustle and bustle.Puerto del Carmen is Lanzarote’s busiest resort for nightlife, though you may be disappointed if you are expecting a wild Club 18-30-style experience – especially outside the busy summer season. Nightlife is centred around the Old Town Harbour (for thirty-somethings) and the Disco-bars in Centro Atlantico on the main strip (for the younger crowd). There are also numerous Irish Bars scattered around the resort. Beaches Playa Grande, Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote The last eruption was in 1824, so don’t fear about activity while you’re there! The bus tour is amazing as you pass through skinny cavernous like areas, see right inside craters, take in views of desert dunes and endless landscapes of lava fields. As a little tip, I’d recommend sitting on the right side of the bus. This side offers better views on the whole, although you might see more of the craters from the left side. You’ll see geysers in Timanfaya National Park Most visits to La Palma start with the 47 sq km Parque Nacional de la Caldera de Taburiente, whose scented pine forests sprawl around the Caldera de Taburiente depression (accessed from El Paso or Los Llanos). Hiking here is a Canary Islands highlight, especially around the Barranco de las Angustias, the Roque de los Muchachos and the 1,854m-high Pico Bejenado. There’s more walking among the Los Tilos laurel forests in north-east La Palma. Take a dip in the saltwater pools in nearby San Andrés, with its 16th-century church.
