It’s as if either the PS5 or the TV is doing some auto switching on the HDMI input every time there is a selection? I run a LivJuke 2Tb NAS server through my Sky router to my Onkyo 509 and it picks up the DLNA connection fine to start with and the Onkyo sees the Juke.

Anyway as they are THX certified I was always under the impression that their were good quality speakers. I ask as i cant bare not getting every penny out of this and i was expecting to see DTS or the like.
Take a look about Dolby`s recommendation for speaker placement and then it`s up to you to make the necessary changes in your room. These speakers really are very light and you should be careful where you place them because it is very easy to fall over since they can either be mounted on a base or on the wall.

If you go for the second solution then things are pretty simple as the speakers are fixed so no need to do anything. If i connect the fire cube directly to the tv the video output is rgb 8b tm - 3840x2160p - 60hz fixed (same as hue sync box without the dolby option enabled). I would like it to be just a bit bigger but I have no problem as it is as it has enough power to give you clear sound even at a distance. Watching picture of your room it`s quite the opposite and you aren`t even getting the most of these speakers now sitting at totally off-axis to speakers which are pointing god knows where + too low. If you don’t want separate overhead speakers then up-firing speakers are what you want and if you are very tight on budget then the SKSHT588 is a very good solution.If you would sit center spot (center channel in front of you) then the surrounds would be too near to you also. You might have a question that is scratching you from the very beginning, well let’s find out the answer. Even if you would get better speakers like Q Acoustics, it would be like throwing money away if you would place them as poorly as you got these now! Under a decent budget with lots of impressive features, Onkyo TX-SR494 is really an amazing receiver. Now what I like about this setup is that the 2 overhead speakers are not separate ones but they are integrated in the front speakers and look upwards.
