When ‘Hear of Stone’ was announced, it was dubbed as a ‘female-led version’ of ‘Mission: Impossible’ by some fans when they heard the plot. And, it basically is just that. It’s a simple spy thriller movie where the power to save the world lies in the hands of a single secret agent– in this case; it’s Rachel Stone, portrayed by Gal Gadot.

Heart of Stone' is a slowly unfolding period romance between a vampire and his inimitably devoted clerk: lushly depicted in flowing, lovingly appended prose, we follow the slow understanding these two men grasp of one another, and the cross of their two worlds into each other's. Heart of Stone continues its rollercoaster ride for readers across time, suspense, action, and even love. You won't want to miss this conclusion to "The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone" series. I'd love to tell you more...but I don't want to spoil your ride. Get a copy of Heart of Stone. You'll be so glad you did. This book should have been everything I ever wanted. 18th century gentle, slow burn gay romance involving a vampire and his secretary, with autism and ADHD rep, it seemed as if it could hardly be more up my alley if it tried. And it’s always a bitter disappointment when a book that seems perfect for you…isn’t. That, I believe, is the heart of man. Not declarations, not speeches, no, but the softest word spoken in the softest whisper, to one’s companion after a night of revelry has dwindled down to the tender dawn that follows it.Henry Coffey, a vampire, hires a young man called Theophilius Essex as his secretary. Theophilius is quiet, dilligent, and proper almost to a fault, while Henry is friendly, never shuts up, and is intent on trying to coax Theophilius into expressing any sort of opinion. Over the course of the book, we slowly watch their relationship develop and Theo open up a little as he starts to trust Henry. Rembrandt's look and associates may have changed, but his primary goal has not: to use the time-travel watch to regain his old life, the life where Eve was his wife and Ashley his little girl. He's still hoping that they are not lost to him forever. But his hopes have taken a beating; his efforts, thus far, have been fruitless. Yet he tries, over and over. If his own personal efforts (well, and also the knowledge he's gained about events in all his trips across the space-time continuum) can't regain him the life he has lost, what will?Rembrandt's journey was incredibly touching through this book. You see his struggles at their core, and how he chooses to face the future. Zacharek, Stephanie (August 11, 2023). "Netflix's Heart of Stone Is a Mission: Impossible Wannabe That Mostly Misses". Time. Archived from the original on August 14, 2023 . Retrieved August 14, 2023. an unerring focus on what makes two people come to love each other - the way the book draws out the relationship between Henry and Theophilus is excruciatingly beautiful

I had dreams and aspirations, none of which included a man by my side. Been there, done that. Then I forgot my cellphone, and all of my carefully laid plans went to hell. There is no plot beyond “Henry and Theophilus meet and talk and want”; but it is real a delight. If you’re in the mood for a pining vampire and his pining secretary, minimal angst and a rather delightful take of vampires, this is the book for you. This is a lovely, heartfelt book full of pining and feels and the slowest of slow burns. It is also the least vampire-y vampire book I've ever read. Recommended to: those who like extremely slow-burn romance and vampires, anyone looking for autism, ADHD, or LGBTQ+ (gay, in particular) rep Theophilus is an accomplished artist and I loved how art and his artwork in particular factored in. This leads to one of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever seen in romance. He gives Henry a book of drawings of all the people in his life, from friends to servants to acquaintances. However, he does not include his self-portrait—doesn’t even think of it—and is floored when Henry asks him why not. I SWOONED. I want an illustrated version so we can see all of his drawings. But the descriptions (similar to alt text on social media images) were very effective.

Time has outwitted him. It’s time for him to outwit time. Can he reconstruct a past he just destroyed or is there nothing left of his world to save? Detective Rembrandt Stone doesn’t recognize himself in the mirror. Doesn’t recognize the world he’s returned to. Doesn’t even know his own name. But he knows one thing…living in this world is impossible. What a sweet little book this is! It is a love story all in conversation, with so much yearning and such sweetness, both in the story and in its telling.

head on confrontation of ethical and moral challenges inherent in the scenario; from the power dynamics of the employer/employee relationship, to the inequities of slavery and indenture in the British world of the 1760s Kroll, Justin (March 7, 2022). Before I started working on the movie, I spoke with Gal, and we both believed the core tenet of what we wanted to achieve was an action thriller grounded in reality.” As I’ve traveled through time for five books with Rembrandt Stone, at the end of each—but none so much as book five—how was he going to get out of this mess? Now, with the release of the final book in The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone series, all I have to say is: Whoa!! This trio of authors hit it out of the park with Heart of Stone. Kroll, Justin (March 8, 2022). "Sophie Okonedo, Matthias Schweighöfer, Jing Lusi And Paul Ready Round Out Cast Heart Of Stone Starring Gal Gadot For Netflix & Skydance". Deadline Hollywood. Archived from the original on May 31, 2022 . Retrieved March 8, 2022.This book. This story. I have been trying to put all the pieces together since book one. I mean how in the world was Rembrandt going to get his happy ending? And would it look the same as the very beginning? It's extremely hard to talk about this installment of the book, well any of them honestly, without giving spoilers. So, I'll just say this - this ending was better than I could have imagined. I mean, there were moments I was barely breathing, but for good reason. The way the characters were all brought together, how the bad guys were found, the story behind why everything had happened, and even a surprise twist that I just kind of sat there for awhile smiling about. What was great about Heart Of Stone is that it wraps up the entire series perfectly. For the first five books, you come to expect that Rembrandt Stone will do his best to solve a crime while adversely affecting his future with an breathtaking cliffhanger. All these mistakes or alterations were a learning experience and I really liked the theme of how we don’t go through life perfectly and it’s the mistakes and the seasons of valleys that make us who we are. And it’s trust in God that allows us to see the blessings of our lives. Alexander was the glue holding my shattered soul together. This should’ve been one of the happiest times in my life, but the darkness still loomed. Today I have that feeling, you know the one, where you waited so long for something, and now that you have it...that bittersweet what now feeling? Vampire Henry hires Theophilus as his personal secretary. Henry is lonely and touch-starved but also a completely vivacious, lively character. He’s intensely interested in Theophilus’s opinions, whereas Theophilus is completely baffled by this and wants to maintain propriety. We get different vignettes of their interactions as their relationship grows from employer-employee to friends to (much later) something more. The story focuses on small intimacies and I ate it up. There are lingering gazes upon wrists and contemplation of faces.

Rembrandt sums it up so well in these words: “A thousand tiny things…but I can’t change them all, every choice I make is a choice to change something else in the future. I don’t know what it is, but I have learned that I can live with the past mistakes much easier than without the blessings of today.” HEART OF STONE concludes this character's journey in trying to repair his future while somehow escaping danger for him and those he cares about. Full of suspense and action, as well as a touch of inspiration and romance. Fans of the series will definitely enjoy this final installment! I think the ending was perfect. I have to admit I wasn't sure it would turn out the way it did. I was preparing myself to accept whatever came. Andrew (Burke), Shelby, Chief Booker, and the rest of the family were such a joy to get to know. Outside of a view editing mistakes, the writing was great. I found it easy to follow and enjoy. The use of AI as the center MacGuffin in the movie feels quite timely, especially now that there is so much talk about Artificial Intelligence and its benefit or harm to society and how the technology may ultimately replace us and actually destroy the value of human labor. So, is ‘Heart of Stone’ based on a true story, a book, or anything similar? From Iceland — Netflix To Shoot A Movie In Downtown Reykjavík". The Reykjavik Grapevine. March 25, 2022.
