About this deal

According to The Sun, an extract from Kay’s book says: “Without a doubt, the greatest British talk show host was the late Sir Michael Parkinson. He was in a class of his own. Peter Kay will be bringing his first stand-up show in twelve years to The O2 with a monthly residency at the venue. Bolton comedian Peter Kay has announced a new book reminiscing about his television career, including his time at Granada. The audience seemed to love it and the whole idea came off much better than I ever imagined it would.”

Peter Kay is the gift that keeps on giving as, amid his exciting year of stand-up shows, he’s now set to release a new memoir. His journalistic training gave his interviews a great foundation and he was always well-researched when it came to his guests. He also knew how to listen and, more importantly, when to interject.” It’s been such a massive pleasure recalling the adventures I’ve had over the last 25 years both in front (of) and behind the camera, and I hope people will enjoy reading about the journey as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.” The North West comedian has collected his childhood memories as well as documenting his impressive journey from Phoenix Nights to Car Share.Peter Kay said: “Audiences in London have always been amongst the best in Britain, plus I think seeing the show could be part of a nice weekend away treat.” Peter is the first artist in the world to perform a monthly residency at The O2, the world’s most popular music, leisure and entertainment venue. The beloved comedian returned to the stage late last year for the first time in 12 years, with his tour travelling across the UK and including a monthly residency at London’s O2 Arena. The description reads: "From making the tea at Granada to stardom and national adoration in Phoenix Nights and Car Share, the beloved comedian reveals stories, anecdotes and insights from his television career in his characteristically side-splitting fashion." By the end of his run, Peter will have broken the record for the most shows played at the O2 arena by an artist, with an impressive 44 shows at the venue to his name, surpassing previous record-holders Take That who have performed 34 shows.

He’s now shared even more brilliant news for fans to coincide with World Book Day on Thursday, announcing the release of his new book TV: Big Adventures on the Small Screen.verifyErrors }}{{ message }}{{ /verifyErrors }}{{ It’s been such a massive pleasure recalling the adventures I’ve had over the last 25 years both in front and behind the camera, and I hope people will enjoy reading about the journey as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.’ He explained: “As it was Parkinson’s last show, maybe I could bring some things with me to celebrate. Like on the last day of school, to have a party. He is touring up and down the country in a mammoth arena tour spanning from December to August 2023.
