About this deal

Black Lamp lasts three issues, the King/Gerads Joker story four, while each Batman: Black and White is a one-and-done.

though this episode centers around Kid Flash and Jay Garrick) while Hal appeared in the first-season episode "The Eyes of Despero! The new creative output itself has been fine, many just feel like DC dropped the ball on some golden opportunities.

In 2000, a limited “Silver Age” event brought back original Silver Age series and concepts for new one-shot issues. With little time to focus on the story or characters, the finale is comprised mostly of action set pieces of the initial attack and subsequent rescue. Contrasted with that implicit comradery, the “final” fight between Batman and Joker really sells the unending animosity between the two. Just as Showcase introduced the world to new versions of Green Lantern and Hawkman, The Brave and the Bold would continue to present new ideas for DC’s Silver Age. The book shouldn't simply feature the occasional team-up, it should almost exclusively follow these team-ups.

Bottle of the Planets – After teaming up with the Black Canary to defeat the Joker, Batman and Superman shrink investigate a string of robberies inside the Bottle City of Kandor and soon discover that the robberies are committed by Et-Rog. We’re working with Robert on The Batman – Part II with Matt Reeves, and we’re working with Ben Affleck, who has been a part of our team trying to bring things together and he really wants to direct one of our projects. Visuals also hammer home the idea of wonderment, confidence, and togetherness between the couple so very well. We learn that Suicide Squad agent Emilia Harcourt was at some point killed and brought back to life by Amanda Waller via a Lazarus Pit which gave her powers. The show launched a video game, two tie-in comics for a combined 38 issues, and a pretty great Scooby-Doo team-up movie.

That, plus Ivan Plascencia’s colors keep the action bright an vibrant, making sure that the page never feels dull. In a sea of these long, ongoing sagas, many fans wanted a series that could offer them a break from the decompression, and bring about the action-packed, random nature of older DC books. Under Haney’s pen, The Brave and the Bold takes a page from the success of the Justice League of America feature by showcasing rare and unlikely team-ups that introduce other DC characters to each other. No Exit – Mister Miracle ends up coming to the aid of Batman when he ends up in a death trap that he can't get out of.Due to the fact there are no ongoing story arcs and the point of these books is to have a revolving cast of characters, it's very easy for new readers to jump on board and enjoy the next team-up. In some regards, a book like World's Finest feels closer to what The Brave and the Bold should be than the actual current series. Tom King/Gerads story was amazing, the Cantwell/Rodriguez story was amazing, the Mora one was good, but I could care less for Ed Brisson's work. The theme essentially boils down to the same thing you’d hear any parent say: “I remember when they were young and now they’re grown”.

I've also been the on-site reporter at most major comic conventions such as Comic-Con International: San Diego, New York Comic Con, and C2E2. By nature, you could see it today as a sort of predecessor to Waid's current World's Finest series, which gives Batman and Superman a similar throwback treatment.Captured by Mister Camera – After teaming up with Plastic Man to take down the Scarecrow, Batman teams up with Huntress to battle Mr. Far from the support character or even comic relief that he’s presented as in many other villain team-ups, here he’s in complete control and stands above anyone who could think to challenge him. Enter the Abyss” is a supernatural horror story seemingly designed to play into Kelley Jones’ strengths as an artist. Announced as part of the " Dawn of DC" publishing initiative, Batman: The Brave the Bold is relaunching in May 2023.
