About this deal

Despite social distancing and other restrictions, the speaker was a hit for most who saw it. Because it’s loud, it already attracts attention, and if you can avoid annoying people from the start, you might be able to attract a crowd and meet new people. What really made the difference was using the Bass+ and Power settings. The rumbling bass felt like being in a club or concert in closer proximity, and was the part that really carried the sound further distances. When choosing a Bluetooth speaker, the first thing you should ask yourself after setting a budget is what you want from it. Does the speaker need to be portable and versatile enough to use both indoors and outdoors? Or are you happy with a mains-powered speaker that can fill a big room with brilliant audio? Bluetooth is like a short-range, low-powered, low-bandwidth version of wi-fi used to connect compatible devices together rather than to the internet. Bluetooth uses radio waves like wi-fi does but at a different scale. If you're wondering about the original Apple HomePod, you can still buy it and Apple still supports it, but it has been discontinued. A new model is rumoured for a 2023 launch.

We all love the complete theatre sound experience. There’s something about the floor-to-ceiling screen and the surround sound that takes the entire movie watching experience to the next level. If you are planning to build a home theatre, then you need effective home audio speakers to enhance your music experience. Audio is really strong, too: bigger, punchier and louder than you’d expect from such a small box. Play Juiceby Lizzo and the Micro 2 does justice to the song’s upbeat tempo with the singer's vocals vibrantly portrayed. Midrange in particular is dealt with in a much more appealing manner than anything else we’ve seen at this price. Take your gaming experience to the next level by bringing home a gaming speaker that’s not only compact but also powerful.Another annoyance is that there’s no display, just a power indicator light, so you can’t see at a glance which source you’re connected to. Instead, the Soundbox vocalises source changes whenever you press the appropriate button on its tiny remote control, saying “HDMI”, “Optical” or “Bluetooth” before engaging. The Era 100 is the latest offering from the wireless multi-room speaker company and replaces the Sonos One, which we rated as the best wireless speaker option for most people since it came out in 2016. It's at the pricey end of the market, yes, but the Dali Katch is a stone-cold stunner, delivering excellent clarity, impressive bass weight and good looks in spades – so much so that we've handed it a What Hi-Fi? Award in 2021, 2022 and 2023. If you've got the money, we'd struggle to recommend anything else at the same price. One advantage the Soundbox’s competitors do hold over it is that they’re a little more practical. The M3, for example, although still quite bulky is shorter by an inch or so than the SoundBox and is likely to more comfortably sit in front of more TVs. It also comes with a wall-mounting kit, where the Soundbox does not. Finally, you get a short selection of the sort of sound profiles many soundbars offer – night mode (reduces bass), kid mode (limits volume – this thing goes seriously loud) and speech enhance – that you can layer over the top of the Q Sound processing.

There’s no equalizer in the app, and some fine print within it suggests not using one to begin with. You’re certainly free to do so from whichever source you’re playing music from, assuming they offer it, as most music streaming services don’t. The good news is that the New Soundboks sounds great — even better than we expected at louder volumes. Some distortion sets in at 10 and 11, which is to be expected, but we would only go that far if we were outside in more open areas. The only issue is that it can start to suffer from distortion at louder volumes, but we found it to be one of the best-value options if you’re really on a tight budget. Really impressive stuff. The Addon C3 is basically the wi-fi-enabled, multi-room version of Audio Pro's Addon T3. It has the same minimalist looks that the Scandinavian company is known for, complete with textured surfaces and an embossed leather carry handle, but the wireless tech adds a whole new dimension to your listening. There isn't a simple answer here. Basically, you'll want a speaker that's going to be able to fill your intended space with sound. So, if you're looking for a small, portable Bluetooth speaker to use casually on the table outside when you're hanging out, a relatively low-powered speaker with a 30 to 50-watt output will get that job done for you without any problems. Proof that you don't have to sacrifice a premium look and feel for portability, the Dali Katch G2's compact dimensions, stylish retractable travel handle, and 30-hour battery mean it could easily be your go-to travel speaker. Many Bluetooth speakers now are now fully waterproof and some fully dustproof. If you're planning on taking the speaker with you to the beach or on a hiking trip, having a more durable speaker is a desirable trait. Speakerphone capabilities
