It’s clear from the first glance that the Bosch Professional GCM8SJL is a solid and well-engineered mitre saw. The machining marks on the table, fence, and other components let you know that straight away. Bosch haven’t used as many cheap die-cast components on this saw. It’s stronger, straighter, and more reliable that way. The Bosch Professional GCM 8 SJL sliding mitre saw is a lightweight and accurate cutter. The saw's improved 2-point dust extraction facility protects you from airborne dust particles during use and it also features a laser cutting guide so you know exactly where to cut. The single-bevel saw has a no load speed of 5500rpm, meaning it can handle tough cutting jobs. It also has a built-in workpiece clamp to keep your project firmly in place and give you full control and stability while you work. The Bosch Professional GCM JL sliding mitre saw also features extension arms for work on larger pieces of material.
When it comes to vibration emission, the Bosch GCM 8 SJL produces 2.5 m/s², which is within acceptable limits for most users. However, it is important to note that there is an uncertainty K factor of 1.5 m/s², which should be considered for more accurate assessments of vibration levels. Like the Metabo KGS216M, the fence comes in two parts to allow the blade to pass by at extreme angles. But unlike the Metabo, the fence is incredibly solid. The heavyweight machined aluminium rails slide out of the way but don’t have the wobble that put me off the other German brand on my list. When tightened down the fence feels rigid and flat. There are many different uses for the saw, here are a couple of common jobs that it may be used for to give you an idea of the work it can take on. The Bosch GCM8SJL has much improved dust management and a greater horizontal and vertical cutting capacity of its predecessor.
