Cutting Skills – if you feel they’re ready, you can let them have a go at cutting out the pieces all by themselves – they’ll need to be careful and have good scissor control if they want to cut out the headband neatly To make your own, simply print our easy to use template, cut out the different parts of the hat, fold and glue the tabs, then thread string through the holes to secure it to your head. Don't worry - you'll find easy-to-follow instructions in the resource. Then, you can cut them out. Or if you’d like your children to get some cutting practice, you can let them have a go. After all the pieces have been cut out, use a stapler to attach the strips of paper to the hat to create the headband. Adjust the headband to fit your child and cut off the excess paper.
