About this deal
Use tender forms as houseplants or focal points in summer bedding, and give hardier cordylines pride of place in a warm sheltered spot. Step 1: Take your cutting from a mature plant, selecting a stem that has had at least a year to mature.
How to Grow Cordyline | BBC Gardeners World Magazine
I shall see if I have any pictures sadly though the majority of my photographs are on my old pc's hard drive. Cordyline plants growing in pots can be wrapped up, including the pot, if it’s not possible to move plants under cover. In very cold weather, water in the stems, leaves and roots of your plant may freeze causing tissue damage. With their exotic, palm-like appearance and attractive foliage in shades of green, bronze and purple, cordylines are popular and dramatic plants. You’ll find them in most nurseries and in all but the warmest regions, cordyline should only be grown indoors. They didn’t die and re-sprouted with enormous vigour from the base the following spring and to this day remain as 4 metre tall specimens.

I will have to get someone in to cut them down as they are very thick at the trunk and the two little saws I have will not go anywhere near to cutting them back myself. So I shall just be patient and if a neighbour offers to help me by cutting them back I will accept the offer.Sorry about the quality of the pictures, I just grabbed my camera and was being buffered by the strong winds we have here at the moment but you can see they are beyond saving. Plants in the ground should be given an application of well-balanced slow release fertiliser in spring. These measures will provide several degrees of additional frost protection, but are no defence against really cold winters. A cordyline plant can also be grown in pots and if the container is sufficiently large (such as the size of a wooden half barrel) a cordyline can remain in the same one for a number of years.
