About this deal

Halloween Ends’ interrogation of that idea rests largely on the shoulders of new character Cory Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), whose strong introduction sets the stage for a study in how Michael Myers’ legacy has affected Haddonfield’s hopes for the future. Once again, it feels that the thematic density and richness of its creators totally overpowered the slasher narrative and conceit and shows at best, a gross misunderstanding of the fanbase almost completely, whilst at worse, a wilful snubbing of them with a condescending ‘we know better’.

Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson and is finishing writing her memoir. I can understand why some people didn't enjoy this movie , they are probably people who don't like change. and yet upon release, the howls of derision that greeted the film from the most ardent sections of Halloween fandom (full disclosure: myself included) let Blumhouse (the film’s producers), Green and Curtis know that they had singularly failed to deliver on any of their hype or on their promises. There's nothing wrong with trying something unexpected, especially in a series that has sustained for so long. Bringing all that thematic weight to bear on a single new character this late in the game is a risk that doesn’t entirely pay off.

Halloween Ends (4K UHD Review) - The Digital Bits

No Place Like Haddonfield –Filmmakers and cast reveal some of the secret ingredients that make HALLOWEEN productions so special and their personal feelings on being a part of such a classic franchise. But in terms of delivering what was very clearly promised, on what has been talked up by Green, Curtis et al for years now, the trilogy and this film in particular cannot help but disappoint, even with the weight of those heady expectations removed. Halloween Ends is confirmed to be releasing day-and-date on the 14th October in cinemas and on Peacock. In terms of action, Shane is also a huge James Bond fan and the ending of No Time to Die was the hardest he's ever cried in a theater. Try as she might to hide her pain, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is haunted by the death of her daughter as she puts on a brave face to embrace life.

Special Features: Includes Blu-ray, DVD and a digital copy of Halloween Ends (2022) (Subject to expiration. The home video release includes over 30 minutes of deleted and extended scenes, a deep dive into the film's final showdown, closer looks at some of the goriest scenes, featurettes with the cast and crew, a gag reel and a director's commentary track. It’s an upbeat chat between the five with some good information about the production doled out, and it’s apparent that they all seemed to genuinely have a good time working together. It tends to drop out occasionally, but not for long, and David Gordon Green is primarily in the driver’s seat. But the movie's position as the culmination of the franchise exacerbates its failures as it's not only not giving you what you expected, it hasn't replaced it with something compelling either. However the run up to the release of Halloween Ends in late 2022 also saw a new promise made – the final showdown of two of horror cinema’s greatest icons: Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney). Can usually be seen writing for Cinelinx though they also do a bit of work for Screen Age Wasteland too.

Jamie Lee Curtis reveals an image of Kyle Richards in character as Lindsey Wallace on her Instagram page. Even hiding from prying eyes in the sewers, the killer manages to infect the town's residents with madness and stick a knife in their hands. And while narratives not being taken in the direction that some of the audience wants it to be may smack of a sense of entitlement from those parts of the viewing public, when it appears that in the case of Halloween Ends its nearly the entire audience that bemoans the problematic narrative, then the film itself clearly has major problems. While Halloween Kills was the extreme, over-the-top reaction to Michael Myers, Halloween Ends is the more introspective version of the same story, canvassing a town that remains broken and haunted by the shadow of death that still looms large over them. The first half of the film is almost devoid of murder, punchy comedy scenes and suspense - it feels like you accidentally looked in the wrong place on your way to the theater and ended up at a slapstick horror parody.

As Corey’s own murderous inner demons take over, Laurie and Michael will go knitting needle to butcher knife one last time for the ultimate horror franchise smackdown. Hearst UK is the trading name of the National Magazine Company Ltd, 30 Panton Street, Leicester Square, London, SW1Y 4AJ. The more modern themes that each film has are indeed hugely relevant and should be expected to be played out across horror films produced in the 21 st century.
